1st pregnancy/miscarriage...share some hope.

Hi,

I haven't been on babygaga for a while... My DH and I had a miscarriage May 14th (I was almost 6 wks.) It was our first baby, and we tried for over a year to conceive him. So we've been dealing with a lot the past couple of months.

What I would like to know is, are there many others out there who lost their first babies, but went on to have successful pregnancies in the future? We're slowly getting back into they TTC mode, (there's a chance I may be pregnant already,) but I've been struggling with a hopeless feeling that history is going to repeat itself and we'll never have a healthy baby. The fact that I'm in my early 20's and having so much trouble early on doesn't help my fears.

My first pegnancy was last August and i miscarried at 6 weeks 
i am now 22 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby due in November

I have a daughter, 4, and I miscarried a year ago. Im now 12 weeks and still nervous because Im scared I'll lose this baby. I know of plenty of people who have miscarried and later had successful pregnancies. Good luck

I had a miscarriage and almost 2 years later I'm now 22 years old and 31 weeks along. dont give up hope, I know when I got pregnant again I was very scared that the same thing would happen, you just have to keep your chin up and pray for the best. good luck!

Well I didn't lose my first baby but I did lose my third. I was told by everyone including several doctors that the first miscarriage doesn't interfer with the possibility of a healthy baby next. You are at no greater risk of having a repeat miscarriage. I know that isn't incredibly comforting but at least you have a good chance for a healthy baby. As long as it was a chromosomal abnormality you should be fine!! Good luck! Oh and I am sorry you had the miscarriage, I know it is hard.

I'm sorry for your loss,I lost my son last year in July at 16 weeks. I got pregnant again in October, and just had my baby girl 3 weeks ago. I wish you the best of luck in TTC.

OMG at 6 and 8 months? Can I ask what happend?

Me and my husbandlost our first one at 12 weeks and 3 days it was the worst feeling ever and i told him that i want another baby but if that one turned out to be a miscarriage there was NO WAY that i could go through that again but now im expecting a girl at the end of Aug so that puts me at 32 weeks and 3 days pregnant and everything is going WONDERFUL with this one.. God just knew that there was no way that we could of handled our first little angel we found out that that baby had down syndrom and thats the reason why he/she passed away... Also i wanted to let you know that my old dr. said that she has 3 kids and they were tryin for their 4th one and she had 9 miscarriages tryin for that fourth one but yea cant control miscarriages they happen for certain reasons and only God really knows why

dont know if this helps you but my mom miscarried after she had me (which Im her first) and then went on to have 3 more healthy babies...

Hello dear. I had a miscarriage, a stillbirth and two more miscarriages before I got to have my beautiful little girl and I am pregnant again. I was told by the doc. that you need to let your body heal for a year between incidents to increase the likliehood of a healthy pregnancy. But one does not always have an effect on the other.

Hi Lori Loves Peanut   I remember you from the January Mommies thread!
I'm doing pretty well. Physically I have been great since May. Emotionally...so/so. I have more good days than bad days, and our dr. thinks we're good to try again. So that's what we've been doing this month, though very nonchalantly lol. (No more stressing over temps, charting and BD dates for us anymore! If it happens, it happens!)

Oh yes Im doing well, Its been pretty hot here in OK...so that kinda sucks...yes don't stress over it, I hope it happens quickly for you and you have a healthy baby...my best wishes are with you...

i had a m/c in april 00' at about 5 wks..then again in sept. '01 at about 6 wks...then i got preggo again in dec. '01 with my son who is now 6 and i also have a 3 yr. old girl and a 5 wk old girl..so it is very possible.

Me! I had a miscarraige and then eight months later I was pregnant again. I now have a happy and healthy baby girl. It can happen and it WILL happen honey. Don't worry! You'll be fine.
