babies daddy not her husband.

Okay so my friend just found out she is pregnant with her 1st kid. She is with her babies daddy and theyve been dating for a while...but heres the catch...
she is married to a friend (guy) because he went into the army and she was helping him because I guess his salary goes up if hes married... She asked me if she had to put his name on the birth certificate or if she could put her boyfriend...the real babies daddy. I told her I honestly had no clue but I bet you guys would have the answer!!

She can put the real dad. My friend actually did the same thing. Her "husband" is currently in Iraq and she just gave buth to her daughter back in May with her boyfriend.

If she's married.. it's automatically assumed the child is her husbands..

I believe she has to do something special to not put the husband on the birth certificate. A blood test maybe? I remember something about it from some video I watched.

On a side note...isn't marrying someone to achieve a financial benefit, when there really is no marriage-type relationship otherwise,technically fraud?

I know that it's fraud if you're doing it to get a green card. I wonder if it it applies to things like getting pay raises in the military...

I'm not so sure about all this. But I do know that my cousin actually was married, the baby wasn't his and she put his last name on the test. Even after a DNA test since they were legally married at the time of conception, he has full responsibilty for the child. Regardless.

not in michigan i guess it verys state to state, because as long as the guy is there with pic id they can put whoever on the birth cert

Because they're doing it for money and tax purposes. I have a friend who's gay and ones a lesbian and they're doing the exact same thing.

Because they got married to gain something that couldn't otherwise be achieved without the marriage. The marriage was for the sole purpose of benefiting from it.

i think because she married the friend the real daddy would have to be tested before he was able to sign the BC just because of the fact that he isnt her husband..
