i usually just give my son something to eat. like agranola bar or some fruit snacks. does he drink anything? like out of a sippy cup? something that makes him sucka nd swallow and chew is all you really need. those ear things look like theyd be uncomfortable, i know theres no way i could get my son to wear those.

i flew with my baby at 13mo and she slept 5 min after takeoff until we arrived in tx. we flew out of ny and my friend did it with her baby and she slept the whole way too. no bottle or paci needed

i would think a sippie would work as good as a bottle or paci. Just give him a snack and a drink. Probably wouldn't hurt to invest in the earplanes... lol But I have never used them.

You will have to let me know if you try them and they work. Were flying to Japan for Christmas and I'm stressin 16 hours on a plane with a 14 month old. My son also wont take a bottle or passi.

thanks for the advice ladies.  My son actually doesn't take anything orally...(a little baby food, but that's just a huge mess, esp. for a plane)  He eats via G-tube (stomach tube) but since we are flying out so early, I have a feeling he too may sleep the whole way.  he does chew on a pasi, so Im thinking I may bring one, and give it to him to chew on if it looks like he's having a problem.  I'm going to buy "earplane" things, whether I use them or not...just in case.  i'll let you know how they are amie.
