Gender Of Baby

posted 8th Jul
How many women on here are planning on being surprised about the gender of their child? My fiancee and I are planning to go about itbeing surprised but I find it incrediably difficult sometimes, especially since both of us feel it's a boy. Just wondering what every ones opionions and views are on the topic of knowing vs. not knowing gender.

I have a boy, and I really want a girl, so I plan on finding out with this baby, hoping it's a girl. If I get a girl, we want to let the next baby be a surprise=) I can imagine it is very difficult though.

Not I! I am way too impatient a person to even think about waiting.... It would have killed me. Being pregnant is torture as it is.

Well the ultimate deciding factor was what daddy wanted lol. I wanted to know so badly but in the end he won out, but I figure one minor victory for him is ok every now and then. He is the one doing everything he can so I can be a stay at home mom and finish college. But I totally agree, prgnancy is tourture enough as is but with not knowing the sex it's like a million times harder, what with decorating the nursery, planning a baby shower etc plus the grand-parents are dying to know.

i don't think knowing is a bad thing especially for those of us that are low income and cant afford to buy both boy and girl items. If you get enough of a head start on furniture then find out the sex as soon as you can then it gives you time to prepare for your baby. Also it gives your family a little something to go on as far as shower items. but even then lol my grams buying baby girl stuff even though she knows we are having a boy. I think she just really wanted me to have a girl and might be hoping the next one is? who knows, but in any case i don't know what i would do if i hadn't gotten a head start on buying baby stuff here i am at my 8th month and still feel like there are things i really need still that i don't have. and i feel overwhelmed that i am feeling so huge and sore and still not entirely prepared. anything to make it easier at the time of birth is a good thing believe me.

We are not finding out - we didn't find out with our son either. It was AWESOME not knowing. The best surprise ever. My husband announced the sex of the baby (Aboy!) when he was born. It was a moment neither one of us will ever forget. We both just looked at each other and started to cry! It was awesome! So we want to do it that way again. Its toally worth the wait.
