Cold meds

What cold medications are safe to take while breastfeeding?

My dr gave me a little book with some drugs that are ok during pregnancy...Tylenol is ok, chlor- tripolon, claritin, benadryl (antihistamines). Also benylin for a cough and throat lozenges. Otrivin/ Dristan for nasal congestion. But I would always check with your doc before taking anything..... I always erred on the side of caution and never took anything except tylenol once or twice. Hope you feel better  

Oh Sorry! I just realized you said breastfeeding, not pregnancy. Duh. Anyways, I'm sure the list is similar, but definitely check. Sorry for the baby brain moment

Lol, no worries. As you said, I'm sure the meds that are considered safe are similar. Thanks for the well wishes, too, by the way. Being sick is always yucky. I just hope that my 11 week old doesn't get it, too  

None all of them dry up your milk

I used showers shoothers. They work really good.

Yeah, I see what you mean. I tried taking Sudafed (my daughter's pedi recommended it), and I wasn't producing the crazy amounts of milk that I normally would. Guess I'll just stick to using the vaporizer... Do you know if I can use some Vicks?
