NICU reunions

Does anyone know how to check and see if the NICU that your baby was in has reunions? I tried calling one of the nurses and she had no idea.

I didn't even know the NICU's had reunions..

i was a nicu babu and so was my son but when i was about 10 we recieved a letterin the mail talking about a reunion type thing i went it was nice .. but that how we found out.. i dont know if every hospital does it

If the nurse had no idea (and it was a nicu nurse) they probably don't have one. If they do, you would have (most likely) signed a waiver before your baby was discharged for them to invite you. I've missed all 3 reunions since my daughter was born. I'm lame. Anyways, if you really want to find out, your best bet would be to call the information or community office of the hospital. Even if they don't know, they can direct you to some one who does.

A few days before Paige was discharged, the nurses told us about their NICU reunion in the fall but that Paige wouldn't get an invite until next year (2009). I guess they wait until the kids are a year old or have been through a winter season...?

my nicu reunion is in september...
usagi- my son was born in nov and he won't be a year old when he goes... might be different with every nicu

Huh, that's weird! Our reunion has been at a different time every year. They used to have it in the fall which I thought was weird since that's right when colds start picking up. It was in June this year though and Ethan got an invite.

I think the hospital my son was in automatically invites all children who have been in the NICU even if they are still in the hospital.  My son got invited even though he had only been out of the ICN for almost 2 months. While we were at the reunion I met a mom who's baby was still in the ICN.
