re: how long after you stopped takingTerbutaline

I took the terbutaline and it would only work for a week or two at a time. Then I would have to go in for a "hit" of magnesium and then back home on terb for a week then back in for mag or stadol then back home on terbutaline. If the med is making it hard to sleep, ask your doctor about Ambien or take Tylenol PM my doctor said its perfectly safe.

That's what I thought too but I contracted every 5 minutes from the minute I got off it until I went 4 days overdue!!!

It could just mean that you wouldn't have gone early without it!

I only got the terbutaline injections while in the hospital with both my kids. It took 3 injections to stop my son, made it to 36 weeks with him. I got 1 shot with mt daughter, it didnt work and my intestines were about to rupture so they just took me down for a c-section and hernia repair. Never got the terbutaline in pill form.

that's what I'm thinking because the whole time I was having 'preterm' I never dilated or anything. I was really lucky with that. They put me on bed rest for 10 weeks though. I don't think I needed to be on it because I took myself off a week early sort of. And nothing happened (I was 36 weeks by then). I think it was just BH but they diagnosed it as preterm

Sometimes I feel like thats what these are... BH... but then again.. I'm 2 and 50%.. so I must have been having contractions at some point...I want this baby to come.. I am so uncomfortable!.. and Bakersfield is about 108 degrees today! BLAH! I can't wait to hit 37 weeks.

see if the Dr can put you on nifedipine, it is similar and wokrs well. I was put on it at 28wks and stopped it at 35 then delivered due to induction at 36wks. I could not handled the terbutaline due to heart complications.
