even with insurance that covered it, it was still ridiculously expensive..lol..so hopefully those little ones will stick this time..i have to say..off subject kind of...those estrogen injections in my heiny are getting more and more painful as the days pass..the one today was the worst.. i cringed the entire time and then when my husband was done it was just all blood..and he said "wow..that one left a huge hole" so i asked him if he changed the needles, just to make sure he wasnt poking me with the 18gg and he assured me he didnt..however.. i think he may have forgotten..  my heiney still hurts..

Ohhh my!! Is it the progesterone in oil? That is what I had to use for the longest time.

I found if I iced my bum with ice for 2O mins before the shot was given then I didn't feel it as much. I bruised something fierce but I didn't feel anything for about 15mins after the shot due to it being frost bitten. Haha..... Just kidding. It was just very cold and numb for awhile.

Did you use ice?

no ice..to be honest.. i didn't even think of it..  duhhhhhhhhhh apparently because it only makes sense..no it isnt the pio..its delestrodiol valerate..which is estrogen but it also is an oil, so we have to use the thick needles and it takes its sweet time coming out..i also am starting to get bruises for the first time throughout the process..its crazy the things we women do for love

Yes! Try the ice. I hope it helps. The needles for the pio were HUGE. My MIL is a medical asst. and she gave me the shots my husband said he didn't feel comfortable doing it... just doing his part for the IVF. Men have it so rough..... ya know. Their part.   Sooo tough! Haha!

Oh good luck! That's exciting, I will be wishing you lots of sticky baby dust. I just dyed my hair dark brown, it was blond. Home hair dye is fun!

The PIO shots are the worst, and my husband didn't want to do it either, but finally he did because we went to the little class that they give you and he was practicing and the nurse told him that he actually was doing it very well, so he felt proud of himself and tried later with me, and it wasn't so bad....FOR HIM! hahahaha ....... Nice memories thou.....

I know what you mean, I used to literally have to lay down a sheet LOL and I would have funny spots all over my face and ears and stuff for days but this time I am spot free! Yeah!

I know PIO is the worst. I think next time I want to request it not in oil. I found out after I had it injected more times than I can remember that you can request it without the oil. Ah well.

I went to a nursing class and my husband was taught how to give the shots but to be honest with the needle being so large he was scared to death. So I kindly asked my MIL to do it since was unsure I didn't want him coming at me with this HUGE ass needle!

lol..that's funny..bryan actually loves it and the needles don't scare him at all..the only classing we had was a dvd to watch and we watched it a bizzillion times..i offered to do them but he flat out told me no, that this was his thing..since he can't get me knocked up the old fashion way, this is 'his' way of getting me pregnant..i tell you..when i go for blood work and they do the alcohol swab..that smell will FOREVER remind me of him..as much of a process the entire thing is...our time doing injection truly is a bonding experience even when things get a little hectic "Wheres the top, i cant find the top!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" ..... "bryan, you have to put the top back on the needle before you pull it off, you are going to hurt yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i wouldnt change any of it for the world..

Haha, he would help me with the tiny needles.... when my stomach or legs got too bruised to do it anymore. So he would give me the shot in the arm, but other than that... he said his job was "done" when he went in the cup.  

Oh well. I miss the shots to be honest and being pregnant... aw.. I miss it! I want to do IVF again! Now. Too bad I didn't have any Embryos to freeze.

You guys brought a lot of nice memories from my process . It was a tough time, but i think i miss it too.I definitly do it again in the future. I have 11 embryos frozed, so will see......
