Grrr, I'm having a disagreement with the doctor.... and I di

I can't understand everything my doctor says when she starts talking a lot... I can understand short questions, and when she asks me to do something.. but her accent makes it very hard to understand a lengthy conversation.
I took my mom to my appointment, and she understood it all, thank goodness!

Anyway I went there yesterday, and the doctor starts talking about me having a midwife from a specialty clinic because ofpast depression and suicidal tendencies... she is actually the doctor that had to stitch me up on one occassion. So she personallyknows it was serious. I can understand her worry!
I can only tell her so many times that I have been feeling fine, that I am not going to do something stupid again, I have a baby inside methat depends on mecompletelyand I'm still undergoing counciling aswell, but of course,the depression could certainly return.

Turns out that this specialty clinic is the same one that charged my SIL$300 for a consultation, that is worse than the vet!And it isn't covered by medicare! They are also an hour away, so I would stress myself silly, scared of going into labor at an 'inconvenient' time and either a) Having to travel an hour, b) Having to wait an hour, c) having to go with a midwife that I don't know or trust!

My doctor doesn't even do deliveries, and the doctors are always changing with the hospitalso I could be trusting every decision and bit of advice with someone I don't know! So having a midwife there with methat I know and trust is a MUST.

Gee.. I'm only half way there... but if things don't become clearer I will REFUSE to go into labor  And I have about, roughly,18 weeks to devise a plan onhow to do the impossible... lmao..(kidding btw)

find a doctor close to home, that takes your insurance and that you will be happy with. I wouldn't stay with a doctor/midwife i am not happy with. Good luck.

Thank you, that is a good idea! I'm going to have to look around and see if there is anyone else.The weird part is that she was talking about me booking in with a local widwife aswell...so I can give birth locally.. but she wants me to go through this other clinic and have a midwife from there?
I go to this doctor because I've heard bad things about the other doctor with birth.
Just a couple things I've heard, he wouldn't let my SIL choose her own position during delivery and wouldn't let her sit up at all,
He lied to my ex's sister saying that she had something wrong with her and couldn't breastfeed... she went to a different doctor and found out that there was nothing wrong and that, that, particular doctorlets his own beliefs get in the way of his practice... he didn't believe in breast feeding and he had done it many times..
My mom went to this particular doctor and said she had to scream for the gas because they wouldn't give it to her, it was her first time giving birth without an epidural.
He's been my GP for YEARS and has always been quick to put me into surgery.
So I don't want HIM to deal with my pregnancy.
