Sick Baby and Feedings

My son is a year old and not really eating due to a cold right now. He only had a couple of solid feedings today and maybe 14 oz of milk. Is there anything I can give him right now? Is pediasure fine?

I would ask his pedi, but I haven't been to her yet (three days)

Aww poor boy   I hope his feeling better soon! I'm not sure what Pediasure is but if its like baby panadol Every 4-6hours is whats normal.

Haha, it's this drink that has all these nutrients for kids.

I would definately use pediasure if the tyke will drink it.

Yeah I think I'll have my fiance pick some up in the morning. He doesn't want to eat ANYTHING.

But I think that stuff would be good to help him get more into him..

When my son was sick he wouldn't drink his formula but he would drink liquid lites (I think a generic brand of pediasure) try that, he might drink it.

Oooooh tylenol? I gave him a little ibuprofin earlier.

I think making sure he stays hydrated is more important than anything.......

Have you tried popcicles?? Anything like that. Any time that I have taken my kids, they said that when kids are sick, it is often normal for them to have a complete loss of appetite for a while, but to make sure they are getting fluids in them....Pedialyte makes a popcicle that will restore their electrolytes...Pedialyte is what I use...

The good news is...My Dr. told me that after about 6 months, a baby WILL drink when they are thirsty, usually. Watch for normal wet diapers. I think as long as they are having a wet (doesn't have to be soaking wet) diaper every few hours, you don't have a lot to worry about. Dehydration is the biggest worry.

No popsicles, either.

And he has has wet diapers, but maybe only 3-4 today.

He did sleep a LOT.
