Gym Workouts?

I'm looking to change my workout routine. When I was at my school's gym last semester I did about 20-40mins of cardio (treadmill or bike), 15-20 mins of weightlifting, then another 10mins of cardio (row machine) followed by stretching for a cool down 3-5x's a week. I've been out of the gym since the end of May b/c I'm done with school and I just got a membership to another gym. I was wanting to ramp it up a bit going a full 5 days with at least an hour a day... any suggestions?

my old personal trainer said that the mistake most women make is doing cardio first. when you do that you're burning mostly muscle. lift your weights first and then do the cardio.

also, i used to rotate my muscle groups. one day abs, next day legs, next day arms, etc...that way you don't over work any one particular thing and you can really focus on that specific group.

Me too -I didn't know that. Just wanted to say that you should try any gym classes that are offered. Sounds like you don't need to much motivation but, since I do, it's really helpful to go to those classes because it makes me want to exercise. If I'm left to my own devices I'll just sit at home

LOL... well they don't offer classes early early when I go (6 am). If they did though I would so do step aerobics! I took a step class my first year of college and I've been an aerobic fiend since I was about 15 years old (Thank you Cher fittness videos!). I really wish they offered belly dancing or something near me. But if they ever do offer classes that early in the morning, I will definitly be doing them!

See if there's a better bodies near you. That's the gym I go to and they have classes that begin at 5am. We're like the opposite, I can't do stepping classes because I'm so uncordinated (I look like an idiot!).

No I already know there isn't b/c there's only 2 gyms in the county besides Curves... I live in the boonies. There isn't even a Bally's close by!
