re: eating disorder and pregenancy

Call your local health services dept they may have a resource you could tap into with out your Ob having to be consulted at least not immediately.

I go for my next appt and first ultrasound on the 20march.
I will probably have to write it down and then make my fiance' read it to the doc(while I hide in the corner....lol). He is very supportive and wants me to be safe as well. I am scared, but want to do what is best for my monster.

I strongly agree with the other ladies...You need to tell your doctor no matter how hard. I'm sure they've seen it before and they are the ones that can help. If your doctor is not understanding then switch doctors until you find one willing to work with you and help you. You can do this!!! Maybe start taking some pre-natal vitamins to start. Taking 2 Flinstone vitamins each day equals a prenatal...Please keep us updated on your progress and pregnancy!!!

I have to agree with the other ladies definetly tell your doctor. Trust me they have seen EVERYTHING! I myself have not been in the same situation but want to tell you that you are very brave and a great mother already. You are putting your child first and thats what good mommies are all about!

I just thought Id come through because I was in the same situation. I was actually thinking about this today and having a really hard time with it...And Ive gone through 40 weeks of being pregnant...

Its not going to be easy but you can get through it. One if the biggest things is to find someone you can go to that can support you and help you through it. I wish I would have...It would have probably made things better.

Im not sure about any reading materials but I saw that some women have already posted some links to articles...Just read up on that and dont be afraid to talk to your doctor!

Talk to your doctor!! Seriously! He won't yell at you, he just wants to help! And that's awesome you're doing better! Hang in there, only 36 more weeks to go!

No one should look down on you I to have e.d I am ana and mia but have to stop cuz I am 7 weeks and 5 days its one of the hardest thing I have done I eat 6 small meals a day and have already gain 10ps!!  I mean I am still thin I was just really thin you could see my bones now you cant see them so well everyday a fight to eat for my baby I just think of her/him

hi bea- I know you posted forever ago, but I just joined on. I had the same problem. Are you still out there? How is your pregnancy going? I was really surprised to be pregnant b/c for a while I wasn't getting periods or anything. I Hate hate hate gaining this weight, I'm 21 weeks right now and I'm really happy but I feel disgusting. I just focus on eating super healthy, it kind of helps redirect my obsession with food, from not eating to eating the most nutritious things for the baby. And never never look at the scale. WhenI go to a dr's appt I look up so I don't see how much I weigh because if I know it will make it so much harder. I didn't find out I was pregnant until 7 weeks, and until then I was still taking Stackers and only eating raw veggies and throwing up, you name it. I haven't told the doctors either, and since they say he's healthy I think it's ok as long as I keep eating. I still can't wait to lose the weight after, but I want to breastfeed & I'm scared my milk will dry up.I think you're really brave to bring up this topic. How is everything with you?
