It's taken me some time but here's my labor story. At about 4am on July 2 I woke up to a big wet spot on my bed. As soon as I stood up a big gush ran down my leg. When I went to the bath room I wiped it off my leg and smelled it, definitely not pee lol. So I called my midwife and she said to go ahead and go to the hospital but not to be in a rush as long as I was there by 8. So we sat around here for a little bit and everyone got ready. My mom even colored her hair so she wouldn't look like an old grandma lol

When we got to the hospital they checked me, I was 2-3cm dialated and 80% effaced. They started me on pitocin because I don't think Iwas having any contractions. I certainly felt no pain. Once the contractions started I was able to last a few hours before I asked for the epidural. And even then I wasn't hurting too bad. Around 6 I started having some pressure and by 7 it was getting really bad. Around that time they had checked me and I was 5cm. Then the midwife came in a checked me again I was 6 and right after a contraction she checked again and I was 7. She came back at 7:30 and I was ready to push. I only pushed for about 30-45 minutes. I had a good 10 minute break in between because they had a shift change. Finally at 8:30pm Miss Isabellah Grace Martinez came into this world. Surprisingly she was only 6lbs 2oz which is extremely small for my baby. In fact she now holds the record for smallest baby in the family. She was 20 inches long. And she's has a full head of hair which seems to be the first thing people comment on. The second thing they mention is how much she looks like her daddy.

Speaking of him, he did real well. He didn't pass out although a few times I thought he might. He's doing really good with her. He keeps track of her feedings and everything. And since she's not doing well with breastfeeding (I have inverted nipples so it's not working out too well) he has been helping with feeding. In fact on our second night home I managed to get pretty much a full nights sleep because he stayed up and did all the feedings which I thought was really sweet.

I'm so happy she's finally here.
