question

I have a question for all the mommies, i have a 3 week old and he doesnt get full with 3 oz of either formula or breast milk i feed him every 3 hours do you guys think i should give him 4oz or is it too much? any answer will help. thanks.

IMO feed the baby what they wanna eat. he's prolly goign through a growth spurt soon.

I'm confused. How do you know he's not getting enough? If he wants more give it to him.

My daughter is a little over a month and has been drinking inbetween 3 & 4 ounces for almost 2 weeks now...And now she is starting to suck down 4 ounces no problem lol...I just feed her until she is full and she still only makes it about 3 and a half hours before she is hungry again...

i think babies stop eating when they are full... if you have tried soothing him every other way and the only thing that helps is a bottle then why not feed him... hes obviously hungry..

everytime i feed him 3 oz he seems to be hungry but i didnt know if it was too much if i gave him 4 oz. im gonna start giving him 4 oz then to see if he gets full.

i would go ahead and try 4 oz and see how he tolerates it, he will let u know if he is ready for more... i had to put my son on 4 oz by 2 weeks bc he was so big and it seemed like he just wasnt getting enough to eat

i was never able to feed my daughter myself so she had to have formula,
and from the day we came home from the hospital she had 8oz every 3 hours.
if i was you id make up a full bottle and see how he goes with it. do that for a few feeds and you will get a rough idea of how much he needs at the moment.

ooh and he also doesnt need to eat the same amount every time, he might change at every feeding.

sometimes he eats 2 oz but wants to be fed like an hour later so he eats 1 or 2 more so he doesnt eat the same amount.

do you guys have a schedule? because i dont like those, i eat when i'm hungry, and i expect my baby to do the same.

we dont have a sechedule i feed him when his hungry but its actually every 2 to 3 hours. i dont like being on a schedule i just want him to be full and happy. 

hey girl...ya 4 oz's is ok to give him...Christian has been eating that much too...His doctor said it was fine to give him that much...they are growing fast!

i tought i was feeding him too much but i guess thats only good for his size, he needs to be fed good LOL
