I fell down the stairs

posted 6th Jul
Ok so I woke up this morning and I started to walk down the stairs slowly...somehow I slipped and slid down a few stairs but landed hard on my butt. I think I sprained my thumb because it hurts so bad. My elbow got some carpet burn....Do you think my little cupcake is ok? I'm gonna ask my doctor but advice from you ladies would be nice. I'm 23 weeks today.

Take it easy and call your doctor to see what they think. Everything should be fine.

Amniotic fluid is the best shock absorbing material, so your little one probably barely felt a jolt. If you aren't cramping or bleeding, you should be fine. It usually takes more force, like from a car accident to cause any problems. the most common is placental abruption, but if you are not bleeding or cramping, all should be well. Hope that helps.

I agree, you should be fine, if cars were surrounded by amniotic fluid we could play extreme bumper cars all day and not get hurt.....

i fell twice with my first once very sleepy walking down the stairs and the second timeI was walking in a stream with my husband and slipped, but fell on all fours so i didn't hurt myself. Keep checking yourself for any leaking fluids, cramps or contractions. If your about 27 weeks or more along count kicks to make sure the baby is moving ok.
