Here's my story.....
I was 38 weeks pregnant on 6/23 and my doctor decided to induce me, I had Gestational Diabetes and was swelling and ohhh so uncomfortable and ready to evict my son from my body. We went in at 7 AM and they started me on Pitocin at around 10:30 AM. I was only 2 cm dilated and bout 50% effaced when we got there. I labored all day and the doctor decided to turn the Pitocin off at about 6:30 PM, let me eat dinner and get a good nights rest and start it up again at 5 AM the next day. I was only 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced at the end of the day on Monday. Tuesday they started the Pitocin again at 5 AM, I got an epidural at around 8:30 AM and doctor broke my water at 9 AM. I labored again all day, contractions much stronger and slowely dilated and effaced. At 8 PM that night I started to feel like I needed to push. Doctor was at another hospital waiting to deliver another patient. He showed up at about 8:45 and we started pushing. Man. Pushing is INTENSE. It is a lot of work. Jonah finally was born at 9:17 PM! He had some blood sugar issues so they kept him in the nursery for 24 hours and had him on an IV. Basically he was just so exhausted from 2 days of labor that he slept for 24 hours and wasn't even interested in eating. We finally got to take him home the morning of the 27th. After a long week in the hospital we were so happy to take him home. He's beautiful, sweet and ohhh so cute! I'm just in love with him. I'm 34 years old now and I'm finally a mom. God is faithful and we are so blessed!!!!!
