We had a problem like that with the new guy at the salon I used to work at. You should call and let them know how it went, they need to know so that they can sit down with the newbie and work out the kinks. Every new hair stylist has their rough patches, and hopefully the manager will give you a discount or something.

How do u know shes bad at her job? It was one experience. Dont you think as humans we all have off days? I mean hairstylists arent super humans. We make mistakes too. And your right, a bad haircut is bad for a career. its a shame people arent more forgiving. one bad experience dosent make a person bad at what they do.

Yes, theres alot to be said when a client leaves satisfied. But I think you guys need to cut the girl some slack. Everyone has off days. No worries tho, im not trying to start a shit storm. Thats just one persons opinion. I see it from the other side of the chair and Ive personally seen that people can b very unforgiving. Thats ashame that you had a bad experience, but i think it a bit cruel to make such a big deal over it. I mean, you didnt tip her, Im sure she gets the point. Its wrong to assume that she bad at her trade.

I used to work in a salon and I would definitely call to complain. If someone doesn't know how to do their job right, management needs to know before it effects business. I remember several times having to take highlights off of some girls patterns, because they screwed up a few times and cost the store money. Those same girls were then made to sit through a color class. At our salon, we made it a point to ask each hair stylist what they were comfortable doing. If we got a new person and they said they weren't ready to do highlights yet, we didn't give them any. Because we would rather not give them something they weren't ready for then to give it to them anyways and have them screw up.

Having an "Off Day" is no excuse! If your doctor is having an off day and removes the wrong kidney, is that okay? No. But it should be okay for someone to be rough, rude, and to hack up your hair just because it grows back?

I didnt condone her behavior, I said you guys need to give her some slack. Removing a kidney is diff, they dont grow back. Hair does! I mean this is not even comparable to a doctors visit. Its a haircut. And just cuz someone has one off experience does not mean that person dosent know how to do their job. We hairstylists not magicians. Thats my two cents. Dont go lighting the torches over a bad haircut. Its just crazy.

That is what I said.  Apparently the woman who cut Kathy's hair (and ear) WAS bad at her job that day.  She certainly was not that good!  I did not say the woman is bad at her job overall, I said that if your bad day is making you bad at work, and your job effects other people, then maybe it's time for a personal day.
