Is it true that parents with preemies get some kind of extra income to supplement costs for preemie issues?

in ichigan some do. my neice has gotton for the last 2 years. she was born at 6 months. the should have someone at the hospital you could talk to .

I've never heard anything like that. Usually I've heard its harder with preemies A) for emotional reasons and B) added costs for the baby's special needs.

lol yea... i was told that since my babies were mixed they wopuld automatically be drug tested at birth... wtf??

unless possibly sopcial security might kick in somethin for certain problems but my BF had her baby premature and shes never gotten anything extra for it...

i doubt it. my son has cystic fibrosis and he will have it the rest of his life and we were denied SSI. oremies have probs usually during infancy but usually after, there arent many remaining problems.

I would check it out. The only thing wrong with my neice is she doesnt talk much but she the same size as other 2 year old girls and she still gets 650 a month of ssi.

it seems to be so random who qualifies for stuff and who dosen't.

Tait got denied too!!!!!!! They said it wasnt severe enough. Even after he was hospitalized at 4 months old...fuckers. How is Toby by the way?? Gaining weight?

Yes, some preemies do get assistance. It depends on the health and size of the child at birth, and continuing medical conditions. My daughter missed qualifying by 2 ounces. My nephew has recieved assistance for the last 4 years. Why would some one tell you that anyways? It doesn't hardly compensate for the toll having a preemie takes though.

No it doesnt my neice was 2 ounds when she was born, and us as family didnt get to see her till she was almost 3 months old cause she had to weight at least 5 pounds before she could come home
