dark areolas...tmi maybe

idk if i spelled that right, i think i did. so i've seen pictures and videos of women breastfeeding, and their nipples are all really dark, like, chocolate dark, and HUGE! i breastfeed exclusively, my son is 13 weeks old, and my nipples look nothing like that. theres just my nip, which is light pink, and then it fades into my boob. you cant even really SEE any areola, just a slightly raised area...
is that...normal? everything i read says your areolas will darken, etc, does it have anything to do with milk supply, or the way my son nurses? do they get darker with time or do i just have weird nips....?

Do you know if this has anything to do with the woman's nationality? Mine have definitely become darker, but I am hispanic. They became dark at the very beginning of my pregnancy. I doubt yours will change if they haven't yet.

I think it depends more on your skin... but I'm no expert...
I'm assuming they were light like that before, if so I doubt that they will change.

Mine are ugly =[ Boyfriend likes them I think >_> which is weird, cuz they take up a third of my boobies... I was originally an A cup though. Now I'm a B.. They're dark and huge and not evenly colored =[

mine are dark and ugly. i wanted to buy a shirt today but i couldnt because you cant wear a bra with it and my nips are so ugly and dark. just be quiet and hope you didnt just jinx yourself!!! lol

during my pregnancy they got really dark and a bit larger.. but whats weird is..I have been breastfeeding now for 2 weeks and the areolas have gotten lighter and smaller like how they were pre pregnancy
so I think yours are definately normal...i think it just varies from woman to woman

I pretty much think it depends on your nationality. Cuz I definately read that linea negra is basically that same issue.. if you're a darker complexion, then you'll get it or... something like that.

weird...i wonder if it is genetic...my mom isnt alive so i cant be like hey mom did your boobs change when you had me? haha

ive just been wondering a lot, every time i nurse i see my boobs and im like hmm...my areolas and my nips are as soft as my babys bum. hahaha. good comparison i know. ah well. whatever.

oh yeah i read that too. i never really got the dark dark line. just peach fuzz really. kinda light blonde, which is def weird since my hairs like...black.

UGH. im jealous. My areolas were never dark until i got pregnant. Now there so dark its almost embarrassing....im hoping they go back

i agree with u. it varies from one to the other. the arolea's change(or stay the same0 like precies. theres not one thats the same. close maybe, but not the same

i got the linea negrea too, and its even darker since giving birth....

yeah. too bad my vaginas a huge gaping black hole between my legs tho. im pretty sure i can see 2 inches up the thing. hahaha. at least the sex is still great.

i tried looking up ways on google to help it go away faster but I couldnt find anything!

I hate how mine looks now! UHG! Sometimes I wish I could have had a C-section
