worried about a heavy bloody show/ mucous plug

So after all the reading I have done, it seems very wrong to have blood draining out of you for a day and a half, and it to just be your mucous plug. Two days ago I was sent to L & D for false labor and they sent me home. Not even 15 minutes after them sending me home, blood started gushing and draining out of me. I called the nurse that had treated me that night because I have never bled like that from being checked and it was heavier then what my periods used to be and she just told me it was probably my plug.
The following day, the bleeding hasn't stopped, nor slowed down & by now I'm getting freaked out so I called my doctor and he told me the same thing but to come in anyways to make sure. I get there and he claims it's me loosing my plug and that it was cleared up now. They kept me on monitors for a couplehours, and right before they were going to let me leave, they lost my baby's heartbeat. So in a panic, they kept me there for another two hours to keep an eye on him. I wake up this morning, and I lose my plug. WTH?! Don't they know what they are talking about? Anyone else get symptoms like this? just wondering if it's at all normal or healthy because everything i've read, says it's a serious condition, but my doctor didn't seem to care.

id go back to the hosp and demand they do an ultrasound and show me that everythings still okay in there!!!

all the stuff that I have heard was its usually ok as long as you dont fill a pad in an hour. if you are still bleeding i'd put a pad in so you can monitor how much.

I would honestly look into getting another doc. If there is as much blood as it sounds like there is then that is serious. I had some very heavy bleeding late in my pregnancy right after an inernal exam ( and I mean like rivers of blood - pads would have been pointless) and it was discovered that I had a previa. I certainly don't want to scare you but I would for sure want another opinion.

hes moving and everything which is what makes me feel better, but still seems like something is not right. i was planning on doing that when my actual doctor comes back from vacation which is monday because i swear they don't know what they are talking about! i had 2 different doctors check me, and both telling me im at different dialations.

i had something kinda the same happen to me and im a little confuse about it also. i went wed for a check up cause i had been haing a bad uti for 3 weeks and the dr went ahead and checked me to see if i was open at all and she said nope. she told em i would spot a little after but thats it. well i bleed (tmi sorry) so heavy and some clumps also for almost two days i didnt call or anything cause i figured it was normal and that maybe i was just bleeding a little more from the uti. and then after i stopped bleeding i went to the bathroom and when i got up there was this whiteish ball so to say looking thing in the toliet not alot maybe about the size of a dime (not sure if it was my plug or not ) and ever since then i have been having the worse pain in my lower stomach all the up and around to my pack somtimes to the point it takes my breath away. im not quite sure what to do cause it isnt constant but pretty painful.

maybe it is normal, or maybe it is serious. your story seems to be pretty close to what happened to me, but still, just the fact that they didn't check for a previa, worries me! my doctor told me back in the middle of my pregnancy that i might have placenta previa, but it wouldn't be determined until closer to the end of pregnancy. i told them that last night when i went in, but they still didn't even check.
hospitals frustrate me!

seriously.....gushing blood is NOT normal!

my dr hasnt said anything like that to me and hasnt checked to my knowledge either. and hospitals diffently frustrate me thats why when i called l andd today there like just come in and we will check you that way you know and im like you knwo what nevermind cause i have been there twice in the month of june cause of the uti and cramping and everytime i went there just liek nope just a uti and your still closed and when i went to the dr wed she had said my uti has cleared up and i shouldnt be cramping anymore but if the cramps continued or got worse to go to l and d seeming its a holiday weekend but a part of me wants to go just to get a piece of mind and a part of me says whats the use.

Yeah I think the same thing. After being there a couple times just for them to send you home, you start to wonder what the point is! i decided im not going back until my water breaks or my actual doctor tells me i need tobecause they seem to just waste my time now.

So my doctor has no explanation as to why this happened. shes making me get an ultrasound every week now, and i can honestly say, i'm bored with them now. i used to love them, but every week & since im so close, i just want to see the real person in there! but it sucks not having an answer, alls she said was it for sure was nothing to do with my placenta. Since all this, I'm dialated between a 3 & a 4 and have a "bulging" bag of water just waitin to pop. good luck mommys, hopefully youre pregnancies are going better then mine is lately!
