How many ultrasounds?

Just out of curiosity, how many ultrasounds do you guys get routinely in the US? Where I'm from in Canada, we generally get one diagnostic u/s at about 20 weeks, unless there is a good reason for another one.

Around where I'm at, they usually do them at 6 weeks, then 18-22 weeks, and the last one right before baby is due I think. So about three, I guess lol.

its all at the discression of the doc. I had alot of u/s because I was high risk w/ preterm labor and preeclampsia w/ all three pregnancies. The ob I worked for did 3- one in each trimester.

Same here,unless there are complications or other medical reasons.

just depends on the dr. and your insurance. if you're having a normal pregnancy like 2 is routine usually. and if you're high risk you get the 3d u/s sometimes or you can get more u/s. or you can pay for the 3d on your own.

Yeah I had two...one at 6 weeks, and one at 20 weeks. They almost did one when I was in labor b/c they thought she might have been in an odd position.

well im not sure... 23 ultrasounds during my pregnancy...

I only had one. I was having a normal pregnancy and my doctor didn't request for me to have anymore.

I had complications with my babies, so i had 6 the first time and 5 the second time. Im only 13 weeks and ive already had two with this one... and about to have another in 2 weeks...

i think my kids just need attention, even before they are born!!

I would love to have one earlier than 20 weeks..... It would be so cool to see the baby and know that everything is good, especially so early on when it doesn't even feel like you're pregnant! I don't even see my dr until about 11 or 12 weeks, and at that time I will be able to hear the baby's heart beat with the doppler..... so hard to wait that long!

go to planned parrenthood or whatever.. or umm pregnancy resource center i think it was... once they figured out i was pregnant i got to request an ultrasound.. got to see her at 6wks3days

yeah ... had 5 before i was 20 weeks and from 20 weeks till i had her i had them every week

so far my pregnancy is completely healthy and normal. and i get 3. i had one at the first appt i was at and they determined by the us that i was about 16 weeks. then i had another at 24weeks to determine the sex. i get one more at 35 weeks.. i guess just to check up on things. she didnt say why.. she just said at my next appt i get one so bring a video tape to record it.  

I should have only had 2. One early to date the pg and one between 18-20 weeks. But I lost from first pg from a etopic pg that was never caught so I ended up in the er so for my daughter they did one when I got a bfp, then a differant doctor did one to date the pg, then at 16 weeks the did my 18-20 week one, she would not show us what she was so a few weeks later my doctor did one and then from 25 weeks on I had one once a week because I never felt the baby move. So I had a total of 19 I think.
