Men say the darndest things

I love Kevin. He's caring and sweet and loves his family more than anything, but some of the things he says are just so... I don't even know. I don't know whether to laugh, thank him, or throw his pillow out the door. I'm not sure whether he thinks he's complimenting me, or whether he just thinks without speaking. Maybe he's just stupid.

Tomight, We were cuddling, watching TV, and he looked me in the eye, with the most sincerity I've ever seen him use, and sweetly said:
"I just want you to know, I don't think you're better than me."
He meant it as in, we're equals and we make a great team. But that's what he said.

He's also told me before that "It looks like a clown ran into you" (commenting on my makeup) and "Sometimes you're really pretty." (Um, excuse me, sometimes?) He says it with such sweetness that I don't know how to react. He actually thinks he's paying me a compliment.

I have a lot! I just have to think of one, haha.

How about..."Omg! That stretch mark looks like a scorpion!"

Kevin asks me that all the time. He says things like, "Are you sure you exercised today?" and "With all the walking you do, you'd think you'd be in shape." After he says anything he always tries to convince me that it was a compliment.

DF JUST said to me,


"You're not hot, you're pretty." And definitely meant it as a compliment.
