Is my son a smurf???

Yesterday my MIL was holding my son and my SIL wanted to hold him so as he was being passed from one to the other I noticed his legs were BLUE. Both legs, the whole leg and foot, were completely blue. I showed my husband and he took him from his sister and looked at Lucas' legs. The rest of his body was fine though, perfectly pink. Within a few minutes his legs were back to normal again. This has never happened before, nor has it happened since so we were completely weirded out by it. Could my MIL have been holding him "wrong" and cutting off his circulation...in both legs? His diaper wasn't too tight because I could fit a finger in there. Has anyone heard of/seen such a thing??? Should I call the doctor on Monday about it? Like I said, it hasn't happened again and has never happened before.

Is he really pale skinned?

It's probably the circulation would be my best guess. Kenzie tends to sit on her knees, causing her legs and feet to turn blue.

duce's legs do thee same thing, mostly its bc they are cold but I have noticed it with the way people hold him...I think it has to do with them falling alseep

my daughter used to have her hands and feet turn blue and they'd feel could but the rest of her was normal but its never been a problem so i didnt worry about it. it was normal for her

My daughter used to get really blue lips, and I told her pedi, and he ran an ekg to check her heart and did all kinds of tests , and concluded that it was just her pale skin and the fact that her veins were more prominent.So me not being a doctor keep in mind, I would guess just a little circulation being cut off from being held and it showed tenfold because of his skin color.I would however just bring it up at his next checkup-unless there are serious heart/ circulation problems in the family.Good luck.

Maybe he felt cold, but it could be circulation. It never hurts to check with the doctor though. Whatever eases your mind. Better safe than sorry, I would say.

Wow that's interesting...thank you. He doesn't have another check-up until September so I will call them on Monday just to inform them of the situation and see what they have to say about it and if they want to see him or not.
