re: breastfeeding question

Quoting MandiJo:“ Good Question! I"d like to add, any of you that didn't switch to formula and love breastfeeding now, did you think you would switch(before you got comfortable breastfeeding)?”

In the first 4weeks hell yes every other day. I would be like FUCKING SHIT THIS FUCKING FUCK FUCKER I FUCKING HATE BREASTFEEDING. I had to just set her down sometimes and walk away to calm down and relax. Then out of the blue one day she refused the nipple shield and latched onto the boob. She has been a boobie champ since and is only getting better at it.

The only problem is the first month really sucks. If I had a clue about what formula to buy I would have switched. If I had any formula in the house I would have said fuck breastfeeding and given her formula. Alessandra couldnt even latch onto my boob.I had to use nipple shields and then 2days before she turned 5weeks finally she out of the blue latched onto the breast perfectly.

Now its almost 2weeks since and she can latch herself most times if I put her head to my boob. I just sit there and play on the computer lol

Well I guess I should decide a MINIMUM length of time to bf and stick with it at least that long. I definetally have some more thinking to do!

I felt kinda the same as you while I was pregnant. I was like "I'll try but... if it doesn't work.. o well." But after I gave birth and after learning all the different pros for bfing, I am so pro bfing! It does get kinda hard, but I pump atleast 50% of the time which doesnt bother me. It just makes me happy to know that shes still getting my oober-healthy milk!
