NOT GETTNG ALONG...

posted 5th Jul
When i am giving birth i want my mother and my boyfriend (the babys daddy) in the labour room with me...
only thing is they just don;t seem to get on...
my boyfriend tries his best but for some reason my mom just doesnt want to get on with him and makes things tough for him..
anyways i REALLY dont want any stupid comments from my mother or them to not get on when i am giving birth because
a)its not really fair on me or the baby
b) you would think they would get on for my sake and
c) I DONT WANT THEM TO RUIN MY SPECIAL DAY
so really i was just wondering if anybody else was in this situation and what you did about it or what you would do in this situation...

When people are in that situation it seems that they just decide to grow up for a minute. My mom and my sister's bf didn't get a long at all. Mostly he was just all kinds of bad news (currently in jail for assaulting a pregnant woman if that's any indication) but in the moment when my sister was having her baby they just put the past behind them were there for her...the next it was back to normal though.

i hope to God they do do that because if they don't i will be FORCED to make them take turns in the labour room with me or something...

I was in a situation like that when my first was born. My bf (now my husband) and my parents never really got along, but they knew to keep the stress off of me during delivery they would try and get along of course I had a c-section so I didn't have to go through the labor of them both being in the room. Of course I married to him now, for almost 6 yrs and my parents still hate him, but maturity will never happen and some people will just be that way. My best bet for you is to sit them both down and tell them that they need to get along just not for your sake, but for the sake of the unborn baby and just deal with the situation at hand and if they try and cause problems during delivery you will kick them both out. I have a feeling that might make them behave during your delivery afterwards is a whole nother subject. Good luck Sweetie!

I agree with the previous posts. A lot of the time people can put aside their differences (if only in the delivery room)...I would talk to my mom about how important it is for her and the baby's daddy to be there and that you hope they can just pretend to get along while everything is going on...and maybe even a little while longer...
