membranes stripped?

So i will be 38 weeks on monday and i am already 3cm dilated. they are stripping my membranes on tuesday and since i am already 3cm dilated what are the odds of it making me go into labor ??? i know it doesnt always work on everybody but ive been reading up and a lot of places and people say i have a higher chance of it working since i am already 3cm dilated!

Btw i am high risk and i get ultrasounds every week so they are only def. doing it because she is so healthy and we know that for sure!!!

IMO it should help get you started. My doc was going to strip mine to get things going, but then I got induced instead.

I don't "do" odds. If your body is ready, you will contract from the stripping of your membranes. My doctor did that to me twice.

It doesn't really matter if you are dilated or not unless you are dilating due to a condition. Some women dilate before they go into labor, other's done. Just chill. =|

I was induced at 38 weeks. Why are they trying to strip your membranes if you are high risk? j/w.

well they are also inducing me a week before my due date anyhow.. it goes with a lot of issues that i had when i was pregnant with twins and they were stillborn. they want to get her out of me as soon as possible and her being healthy just incase the same thign happens with her that happened with my twins!

I had stillborn twins at 24 weeks and they don't know why they died, so they want to get her out of me as early as they can and when she is absolutely healthy and since i get ultrasounds everyweek she is very very healthy they don't want to take any risks and i really don't neither.
