I'm a damn idiot: Update at bottom

posted 5th Jul
I used to consider myself pretty intelligent. I really did, atleast until last night. DH and I have been having to use condoms when we have sex because we have no insurance and we can't afford the doctor's visit or the prescription for me to get on birth control pills. For the first time in a couple of weeks John was able to get some condoms so yeah we were happy. We were going to sex the night away...For some stupid reason we didn't use the damn condom the first time (which stopped any further fun because I was so upset with us)!!!!!!!!!!WTH? There is no reason for us not to. We have two children, we aren't new at this parenting thing. How in the hell could we be such idiots? I could probably handle it better if we had gotten drunk or something, but we weren't. We were just total freakin horn dogs. So now, because my period just ended a couple of days ago, I get to wonder and wait to see if my next period will come. I just hope that this isn't one of my long months (my period goes anywhere from 20 to 35 days--I'm so dang irregular). Somebody shoot me.

Go to the health dept. They give out free BC that'll cover you for 6 months. (At least they do here.)

I'm waiting for my appointment with them...I still have about 3 weeks before my appointment(I've been waiting since I was on my 2nd to last pack from the hospital--about 6 months now). I'm on the notice list in case there is a cancellation, but so far no dice.

Morning after pill is at Wally World for $42.

Planned Parenthood gives out birth control, too.

Our Walgreens doesn't give them out, but I'll check around and see if our planned parenthood is still running. Rumors were going around that it had closed due to finances, and we don't have anything like a plan b.

Thank you ma'am. One would think that since I'm 30 years old, married 11 years, and have two children that I would have damn brain, but evidentally not. I wouldn't feel so stupid if finances weren't so tight right now. John's in school full time, my car is dead and we are living off our savings until the job market opens up around here (the most hours either one of us has been able to get is 20 hours a week, which barely covers the utility bill).

Off to check into morning after pill.....

Well, John saw this post and he and I started talking. He doesn't want me to get the morning after pill. Even tho' I have problems with my kidneys and things are tight around here right now he doesn't want me to do it. He's going to look for a second job and he wants me to keep helping my mom in her business and we are just going to wait and see. It's not going to be easy, but we both feel that if it's meant to be then it will be. I'll still be going to my appointment when it comes up and hopefully we'll have a definite answer. If it's positive then we'll deal, if it's negative then I'll still get BC like we were planning.
Thanks for letting me ramble and get my thoughts out there ladies.

Thanks hon, I'll update again when we find out for sure. It's a scary prospect, but I fully believe that we aren't given more than we can handle, so we'll see what's in store for us.
