back labor

so im not in any kind of labor but i was just wondering what back labor feels like

it hurts.. bad

like worse then contractions

It feels like tons and tons of pressure and pain in your lower back. I had it, it sucked big time. I had to labor on all fours to help ease the pain. My aunt put pressure on my back where the pain was the worst and that kinda helped.

My SIL had it all day and was in a ton of pain and didn't think she was in labor and her friends threw her a surprise baby shower and she kept trying to leave by the time she got home at 10:30 she started having regular contractions and they were 3 min apart so she went to the hospital. She said it felt like extreme back cramps she didn't say this but you can usually time them just like contractions!

I had it with my daughter and the only way I can really describe it is this.
It starts like a cramp/severe pressure in your tailbone and will come up to about the center of your back...a little above your hips. As soon as it gets to that point it feels like that same cramp/severe pressure is spreading outwards toward your hips. While this is happening you feel like a bowling ball is trying to drop out of your butt (which is the baby's head). And they start off not so bad and work their way up to being extremely painful. Something about the way the baby is positioned when it comes down the birth canal. I can remember for sure but, I think it's because the baby is coming out face up instead of face down and the back of their head is what causes most of the pain to be in the back. Some women say they have cramps/pressure in the front too with back labor but, I never did. All back. I sure hope I don't get the same this time around! lol

It's a discustingly horrible pain!! I don't really know how to explain it other than it's HELL!!!

I had back labor with my daughter..it was so bad that even the epidural didn't help...so bad that i was determined to never get pregnant again...lol and now i'm about to have twins in a few weeks! it felt like someone was breaking my spine..not fun! hopefully you don't have to experience it!!

I like the whole bowling ball out of your butt. I told my midwife I had to go # 2 and she said nope, thats the baby! Definatly feels like how you described!

efffing horrrrrible!! i never once hadcontractions n my stomach it was all my back! i had to be carried into the hospital becuase it was hurting me so bad i couldnt walk or stop crying lol it felt like when you get a charlie horse in your legg or somewhere but through the whole bottom of my damn back!

LOL! That's the only way I can think of to describe it. Bowling ball! Or the dog trying to come in thru the cat door. They say you forget the pain of childbirth, or else a woman wouldn't have anymore after the first. But, any woman that's had back labor will NEVER forget that pain. And it kept me from having anymore kids for 7 years! LOL
