re: why do people call you when your in labor?

oh i hated evryone trying to come visit when we first got home, I wanted to rest and bond with my baby it got so bad I had to turn off my phone and post a note on my door saying"do to the risk of getting the baby sick no company until after histhree monthshots" lol I lied i just didnt want company

I had friends and family texting and calling me the enitre time I was in the hospital and I didn't mind one bit. If I was having a contraction or with the doc or nurses, I just wouldn't answer. In my opinion, it was not only an exciting time in my life, but it was also exciting for my friends and family who had been there for me throughout my pregnancy!

I would have the baby by the time i talked to all of them that long! LOL

I had one friend I was texting because I was being induced, but when it came to actual hard labor my phone was off lol.
But my boyfriends stupid ex texted him just about nonsense when she knew we were in the hospital, I mean I was being induced and I guess she wasn't ok with the attention being on me for a few hours. Psycho beyotch ugh. She didn't even mention me and the baby I was birthing!

My Mother was the WORST!! She called my cell while I was in the middle of a contraction so I didn't answer, and then she called the hospital phone! And then she called while I was getting my epidural, and the nurse actually asked if I wanted to talk to her! I said no (obviously) and the nurse hung up and my mom called right back to say she was leaving work! But the whole 24 hrs I was in labor, my phone was either ringing or I was getting non stop texts.. UGH!!!

I would have been pissed and told my hubby (or bf) to get rid of her or he could leave! The choice would have been his! lol

Well... I have a really big family, and I know every single one of them will be there when I give birth, plus my fiance's family (not in the room while I'm actually pushing, but very close by) ... Being able to talk to them will help pass the time, and take my mind off the contractions. Especially if my doc decides to induce. But I agree about the phone... if they are there with me, they won't expect me to talk to them or anything, they'll just talk amongst themselves. And as far as seeing me breastfeed.. well they've probably all seen my boobie before, and before this kid turns one they'll see it again =)

yeah he didn't message her back, I told him to turn off his phone lol. it's just like seriously how desperate can you get?

see i would rather everyone and their mama to call me, than to be there! i looked like crap i felt like crap i wanted to sleep and EVERYONE was there and before i had the baby the nurse actually kicked everyone out of the room i think she could see i was irratated... i understand were they are coming from they are excited and want to know whats happening but they shouldn't mind if you cant talk at that moment. i always passed the phone to my hubby anyway!

I had one friend call me when i was in hard labor and her advice was to PUSH HARD... it was the one time i cussed at someone while i was in labor.... I told her to fuck off  She forgave me tho!!

When people overstayed their welcome after I had Macy I would show them how the cool nursing bras worked...I would plop out a boob! Most left shortly after I would pop one of the milk jugs out!
