poop.... and puke.

posted 5th Jul
i am amazed at how often my child poops and what it looks like.... she has always been this way and i wish i knew why.... she goes 5-10 times a day and its always really mushy.... iam starting to think she has a milk allergy because she has always been a heavy puker too... at least 2x a week since birth. i have asked the doc several times about it and he said as long as shes growing and gaining not to worry. she isnt fussy so im not even sure if it hurts her or anything.... but i really wish i could at least get her to stop puking. does anyone else had a child with milk allergies and what is it like?

My 11 week old has a milk-protein and soy intollerance. She's incredibly fussy and gassy. The two big things that confirmed it for the doctor was mucus in her stool and blood in her stool (not visual blood, but it tested positive). And since I'm BF, I have to cut all milk and soy out of my diet...do you know what's good that has milk in it? EVERYTHING! I hope your little one doesn't have an intolerance. Does your pediatrician have any ideas as to what it could be? Good luck  !

shes 20 months now... the puking slowed dramatically since shes on regular foods now, she was puking 1-2x a day as an infant... im not talking spit up either..... full blown, chunky chunks.... i asked at every appt about it and they blew me off.... i even tried to switch her to soy and it made her bowels worse so i went back to regular formula. shes now on whole milk and she pukes Especially at night when im rocking her.... maybe its the motion... or the milk. i guess i need to take her to a different doctor, but how would they even determine what is wrong with her? im scared my next baby will have this problem too and i will have to lose my mind for good

They could check her stool for red blood cells. Also, most kids that are milk-protein intolerant are also soy intolerant, so that could explain the reaction to the soy formula. Could she just have an easy gag reflux (or motion sickness)? My little girl throws up at the drop of a pin and it very motion sick!

i really dont know if its motion sickness or gag... i just assumed it was something she was eating because of the excessive pooping she has too... i think i will schedule her an appt. to get tested. i should have insisted when she was a newborn but being the new inexperienced mom i was just assumed it was normal... lol.

My daughter has acid reflux and she used to take zantac, but once she started eating solid foods, she didn't have to take it anymore. She still spits up from time to time though, but she is also a little pooper. I'm amazed with her too!! She goes at least 4-5 times a day an its mushy too haha. I've never seen anything like it!! My son is the total opposite. He goes like 2 times a week if that, but shes gaining weight fine and everything. I know how gross the puke can be, but I mean if she is gaining eight an doesn't seem to be in pain, I doubt it's a milk allergy. She just might have a weak stomach. She'll probally grow out of it though soon I'd imagine.

i hope so.... it is getting progressively better with the puking.... 1 -2 times a week is much better then daily.... we are going to hold off a year or two more for new carpeting... or maybe we should just get wood flooring..... our whole house smells of barf... its quite overwhelming.

I can imagine, I'd rather clean up poop over puke anyday!!! I'd definitly go ith the hardwood flooring!! If it's already got better, then it can probally only continue to get better with time, even though it can be a little much at times!
