you can't avoid what's going to happen... if you are going to get them, you are going to get them... nothing helps! Sorry you have to get them!

The best way to try and "prevent" stretch marks is from the inside out. They occur in the dermis which is the lower layers of skin (dermis), the creams and oils we use are only penetrating the upper layer of skin (epidermis). So make sure to drink lots and lots of water. And my doc gave me the okay to ingest 1 vitamin e supplement daily with my prenatal. So now I'm getting vitamin e on the inside and the outside... hopefully it helps some! lol... so far haven't got any.

Hi,

I used to have pretty bad stretch marks and red scars around my belly region ever since I gave birth to my three kids.I had tried Vitamin E oil and cocoa butter which a number of people had recommended but unfortunately it didn't seem to work too well. My Doctor had even suggested that I go for a Tummy Tuck. I then recently read an article about a lady who supposedly got rid of her stretch marks using a particular cream. I tried it and it worked really well. It took a number of weeks but my stretch marks soon faded away. You can read the lady's article at the link below.

oh i totally agree that they suck! I have them on my tummy, inside my thighs all the way down to my calves... and now I see that they are starting on my outher thighs... omg. lol. I wish there was something I could do... I always used coco butter lotion and the creams even when I was not pregnant so I dont think those help too much... I also have brown skin so my stretch marks look dark brown almost blackish... it looks horrible, BUT its understandable because I was only 113 when I got pregnant and now im 135... & im also only 4'9''. .. so I guess this is just part oh mommyhood... I can deal. Goodluck ladies!

Your diet and weigh gain will have a lot to do with it, and I guess if it runs in the family. I am almost 36weeks and havn't got one stretch mark, But I also use Palmers Tummy butter twice a day who knows if that's helping but it must have a little something to do with it.
