G tube

Is anyone elses baby G-tube fed and doing continuous feeds??

niether one of my kids were G-tube fed..but my youngest son was born at 36 weeks and he didn't get any teeth until he was a year old..he didn't even start teething until then...and my oldest son didn't get any teeth until he was 15 months..he was born at 25 weeks..

My little guy is six and has been g-tube feed for three years now. His is the Mic-key button in the belly. What kind does your little one have?

Same with my daughter she has a mic-key. She has been on continuous feeds at night time but never 24 hours. I am so sorry I can't be of more help.

Bryson was on continuous feeds but when we did them at night he was real gasy and keep a stomach ache so now we just feed every three hours.

Kadences wieght was doing fine so they took away the night feeds all together. She eats 5 times a day now. When Kadence was on all night feeds she never had a problem with gas or anything. Do you have to wake him up in the middle of the night for feeds?

My son had a g tube as well. It accidently got pulled out before he got the mic-bottom put in. He was just using it to burp and since he was not using it to ate they did not replace it. Now, he can not burp or throw up.

He had a fundoplication.

Not very much. I keep the cut gauze pad there though. Kadence had the anissan wrap to so she can't throw up or burp either. Her Dr. said eventually she will be able to throw up around it.

I don't work with pediatric, but if he is unhappy with the contiunous feed and is gasy and fussy, maybe it's the formula. Especially when food is being introduced to the body, the baby's body is adjusting to what it likes and dislike. Maybe it's time to change the formula to something that is easier on his stomach to digest. discuss food allergy with your doc too. Does the formula contain dairy products.?..maybe he doesn't like it and have a hard time digesting the formula....tha'ts why he is unhappy. good luck and I hope he is growing properly.

That is what I was thinking you meant. Bryson had that same surgery done when he was three. But he can throw up and burp if he really needs to.

How long has she had the tube? Bryson's doc told us not to keep gauze around. Cause the air couldn't get to it to heal it. His only leaks when we change it.
