i have an incomplate cervix and was wondering if you have one to and what they did for you to help you carry your baby i had to have a cerlage done

I have an incompetent cervix. I've had the cerclage done as well  

I have a friend who had an incompetent cervix. After she lost her first one at 5 months she had a cerclage done and went on to have a healthy baby girl.

My friend had this same problem...during her first pregnancy they didnt diagnois her in time - and she lost it - but the second one they did - she was still put on heavy bedrest - after a certain point they gave her steriods to help develop the babies lung because she knew she was going to go into labor early because her cervix still was trying to open even with the the certilage. She gave birth premature - but all is well - and her baby boy is now at home - happy and healthy and getting big.

I have an incompetent cervix also. Aren't we lucky! I have to have a cerclage put in next week. I'm 12w now and very scared because of my past history. Could you please tell me a little bit about your experiences with the cerclage. Does it hurt afterwards? Do you bleed much or is that normal? Does it feel uncomfortable standing or sitting? Please any info is much appreciated. Good luck to all of you!!!

the same thing happened to me when i was 23 weeks with my last pregnancy.... now i have to get the cerclage when im 14 weeks

What are the sympoms of an incompetent cervix. I mean I realize that one would be dialating but if you are not having internal exams, how do you know or what tips it off.

Most of the time you will never know what is happening until it is too late. I never had any cramping or contractions. I did feel pressure in my lower abdomin. Doctors don't normally check you if you don't have a past history of miscarriage. An ultrasound is the only way they can measure the length of your cervix. If you feel any pressure in your lower abdomin request an ultrasound. From my experience you need to stick up for yourself and don't take No for an answer. I'm not trying to scare anyone, I just might be able to help someone.

I had a cerclage done at 12 weeks. I was admitted to the hospital early in the morning, and the procedure took about 45 mins to an hour. They gave me an epidural, so your awake during the procedure. They kept me in the hospital for a day and a half. They keep you to make sure that there is no cramping, or signs of infection. I didnt bleed or cramp at all while I was in the hospital. The only pain I really had was from the epidural. My back was killing me.There was some spotting when i was home, but thats only because i was walking around. They kept me on bedrest for two weeks, and so far everthing is going good. I am now 17 weeks, and on my next appointment on the 16th I will find out if this little one is a boy or a girl. I am so excited.

hi everyone! i am 10 wks now and on the 28th i will be 12 wks and the doc is gonna do my surgery for the cercloge on the 30th. This is my 3rd pregancy and the other two i lost my baby at 4 1/2 mths and the second at 5 1/2 mths. They didnt realize it was my cervix with the first one and 2nd one i went in for a normal doc visit and they realized i was already dilated 2-3 centimeters. Its been 2 years since i've been pregant and when i found out i was really really scared...or i still am!! The doc seems confident that as long as we get my cercloge in everything will be fine...im really nervous bout the surgery and whats gonna come afterwards! Is there any advice that i can get on this?? Im just wanting to be postive that the outcome is gonna be a GREAT gift from GOD! but of course naturally im scared! any advice will be greatly appreciated!! GOOD LUCK GIRLS!!
