I had a LEEP procedure done just two months before getting pregnant, so now apparently I run the risk of having an incompetent cervix. I asked my doctor and she said they'd be sure to ultrasound and check the cervix around 12 weeks. I hope that's the right time frame. Anyone else out there have a LEEP done and now concerned about this?

Hi I had the cercloge done at 5 months pregnant. The drs. didn't know that my cervix was shortening until i started complaining of pressure when i walked. The surgery seemed to be successful and lasted only about 2 1/2 weeks I was ordered bedcomplete bedrest and only had bathroom privledgesthen my water broke. The dr. removed the cercloge and I was expected to deliver in 24 hours. I didn't deliver until 48 hours and was in labor for 8 and 1/2 hours. I delivered a baby boy weighing 1 pound and 2 ounces. Jeremias lived for two hours and died because his lungs were not developed. They did not resusatate him because the rule is they don't resusatate under 24 weeks. The only thing that hurted to death was the epidural to get the cercloge done. It took about an hour and two drs. to get it to work with about 30 sticks in the spine it felt like. In October I plan to try again to have a baby and the dr. said they will give me the cercloge at 13 weeks, and boy am i scared. I now have a high risk dr. to be monitored closely due to my incompetent cervix. Just pray that all is well next time..
