Slight cramping at almost 8 weeks?
posted 4th Jul
I'm 7 weeks and 4 days pregnant and I get random cramps. They're not painful, just tiny and happen about once ever 2 or 3 days. Is it still just my cervix area shifting, and getting ready to expand?
And also, my doctor, whom i've been going to for my whole life says I shouldn't start pre-natals until i'm past 3 months. I don't want to wait another month-ish to start giving my child the vitamins and minerals it needs to grow. I'm going and buying some tomorrow so I can start on them. Do you think i'm doing the right thing by not listening to my doctor on that?

Start your prenatals ASAP unless your doctor gave you a valid medical reason not to. But there shouldn't be one...so yeah start them ASAP. And yeah it's the early ligament pains, they get worse I had slight cramping until maybe 10-ish weeks or so before they graduated to the really painful ligament pains. It just means everything is stretching. As long as they're not uber intense right now, and you're not bleeding you're fine.

you are supposed to take prenatals even if you are just TTC!!!! its good for you - not just for the baby.

I didn't start my prenatals until after my 16 week appointment. My doctor had seen me for the first time when I was 7w2d so I don't think it's a problem. My baby is perfectly fine.

I would start taking the prenatals now. They're good for you too and will help ensure you're healthy for your growing baby. And on the cramping aspect I had a LOT of cramping the entire beginning of my pregnancy, it's generally normal. It just shouldn't be really painful or have any bleeding with it. Congrats hun!
