Milk drip...

I just had my baby, I breast feed him,and now my boobs are 10 sizes too big!! No matter whatI wear, the weight of my boobs is pushing milk out constantly. It soaks through everything!! Does anybody know how to get it to stop? I want to keep feeding, but I can't deal with a boob drip! Thanks in advance!

It sounds like your just engorged. Are you nursing enough? When your leaking that bad I think its due to the fact that you need to feed him. If its still bad then try pumping to help get the rest of the milk out! You can store breast milk a lot longer than formula so maybe try that! I wish my boobies were like that lol Im not producing any milk Good luck momma

It soaks through your nursing pads or bra? I'd say, get thicker nursing pads..lol

You need looser fitting clothes for one! If your clothes are putting pressure on your boobs, they will leak. Also, investing in a pump is a good idea, that way you can pump the excess out. This is especially a good idea if you plan on returning to work, you'll need that extra when you do. My supply dropped dramatically when I returned to work. Try to find a good suppotive bra as well and know that you won't leak forever. I haven't leaked for months now, your boobs eventually get to know when they are actually needed. lol.

Another suggestion is get a/some padded bra(s) and some body shapers (wear under your clothes) I don't usually become engorged but when I do its usually at work and I run pateints all day and some days I cant pump when I normally do-so if I'm leaking the pad in the bra soaks up whatever.

This is just temporary. Just keep nursing and your body will adjust.

It's just a phase. It will get better. The first couple of weeks I soaked through everything no matter what I did.

i was engorged really bad..and that sounds like what you are going through
get some good nursing pads...and it helped me big time to express a little by hand so that they arent so full..but dont worry it does go away!

Oh God... I KNOW what you are going through... when my milk first came in, I thought nothing of going to sleep that night without a bra or pads. They just hurt so much... then I woke up to my sheets being SOAKED by the darn milk! I got to where I would wear the heavy duty breast pads and my nursing bra all the darn time! (Guess what? I haven't nursed in several months, and they're still somewhat bigger than they were. Ugh.) But anyways... the engorgement DID pass. It hurts like heck, but it WILL regulate. Hope you can get through it. (Also, you might try some Lansinoh or something. I know my nipples were so damn SORE during that point... it does ease it somewhat....)
