Fussy? Thrush? Random???

posted 4th Jul
My baby acts crazy when I give her the bottle sometimes. She'll drink about 2ozs.. then start to whine and cry, kinda sounds like she swallows the milk too fast and freaks herself out maybe? Then I'll take the bottle out.. but she cries for it again instantly. I give it back to her.. then the crazy whiny crying starts, I take the bottle out, she cries for it.. over and over until she kinda falls asleep or something.

I've checked her gums and half her tongue because she doesn't really open her mouth enough for me to see the back of her throat.. to see if she has thrush-like symptoms. So.. I don't know.. seems pretty clean.

Maybe the nipple just isn't working well and the milk comes out too fast? It's the first one from Avent since she's only 1 month old..

I have no idea what it is.. but it's really annoying at night, and I wish I knew how to soothe her   Does anyone's baby also do this?? Just so I know it isn't abnormal or anything.. Advice, please!

my daughter does that sometimes when i nurse her. i call it nipple-keep-away. i have decided it's a symptom of being overtired.

Hmmm.. that sounds like a good diagnosis seeing as how I made this post when she was doing it and has now passed out, and she does it when she has been awake for 2-3 hours.. which she and I both do not enjoy, ahahah..

well, i just came to that conclusion when i exhausted all the other possibilities. nothings wrong with her as far as i can tell and she only seems to do it when she's really tired and she doesn't know it.

I agree, it sounds like overtiredness. It could be gas, but my son gets fussy like that when he gets tired. he wants the bottle then doesn't seem to like it once he's got it.
