Retail Nightmares

After a terrible day at work... after being spit on... i need to vent and wanted to hear anyone who has worked in retails horror stories... or any job for that matter lol

I work at best buy and I sell cell phones. A lady storms in and literally throws her phone and me and yells THIS PIECE OF SHIT DOESNT WORK, so i try to calm her down and ask her nicely what was wrong with it... and she yells DAMN THING WONT TURN ON. so i proceed to take the phone out of the box and relieze its reallllly light. so i mentioned to her "ma'am did you put in the battery?" she says CUNT spits on me grabs her phone and books it out of the store.

Retail sucks! I used to manage a gas station. I always said the job wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the damn customers  

I worked in a mall, in a department store like wal mart kind of but Canadian, and the store was closing for the night and so I was closing out my till like I was supposed to. When some guy walked past the GIANT sign I had that said "this till closed please go to the one over there" not the exact words but there was an arrow and all that. So he walks right past that, and I say sorry sir I'm closing you'll have to go that till (like 4 steps away) he throws all of his shit on my counter and starts swearing at me calling me every name under the sun and storms out of the store.. I was like woah.. okay then.. (also I was 15 when this happened. This was like years and years ago, but I'll never forget it. Some people are such pricks.)

I used to work in 5-7-9, it's a clothing store. I worked there for over a year.
I also worked at ben & jerrys when I was 16 lol

ugh so many dumb bitches would come in there.
I hate how people take things out on you, when it;s not even your fault.

Aww that sucks. I used to be a manager at Target and would always have to deal with the douche bags that complained about the return policy. I had a guy yelling at me from behind the counter and telling me that I was a stupid bitch.  Like I'm really going to let you return it now that you called me a bitch! Some people are just idiots.

I have worked in retail for like 6yrs of my life (2 Jewelry stores, Sears, and Kauffmans/Macy's) and i swear you need a certain kind of personality to handle these people. Like there is a chip put into your brain that just makes you blank out how crappy your job is and makes you able to deal with it. I strangely love it though. Damn that micro-chip! I've seen and gone through a lot of those days. I dont remember any specific story though.
When i was working for Kay Jewelers i remember a black guy coming in needing a engagment ring today or he cant get back into his house cause his gf kicked him out and wont let him return without one. That was pretty funny. Not to mention the thousands of teenage girls dragging there boyfriends through the store and the looks on the boyfriends face like "yeah freakin right! Looks like i need a new gf!". I remember the common shoplifters in Kauffmans. The "crazy old people" in Sears. Oh how retail stays in your brain.
Hope your days get better. If anything at least you have a story to tell about these wackos.  

i got into a fight with a customer because he told me the ipod was made by microsoft... and i told him no, its made by apple and he wouldnt believe me... so i went on the apple site to show him and he called me stupid and said im never shopping here again.
people are fantastic.
oh and one lady had her ipod stolen on a plane and demanded we replace it since she bought it here.

I work at Macys and one evening there was some chatter on the radio that we needed a 'clean up' in the womens clothing section. Some person had left a trail of Poo down the middle of the tile floor all the way to the bathroom.

Also there was another situation where a fitting room was full of clothing stirred with poo and coathangers. Near 400 bucks worth of clothing ruined.

the place I wokred only carried sized 00- 9 in jeans , and tops xtra small - medium and people would get pissed that we didn't have bigger, it's a JUNIORS store, sorry we don't have size 14 lol
