so this is an honest to God question. I see alot of people on here say that the only way that they would get an abortion or think anyone should get one, is if the baby is going to die and is slowly and painfully suffering in the womb. I was always told that babies can't feel anything in the womb... such as abortions. That they can't feel pain. So if that's the case then why is that an answer for having an abortion... to free the child from misery i mean.I'm not trying to debate abortion. I just want to know if fetuses can feel pain or not.

Yes they can feel pain.
I once read that during an abortion the fetus was trying to wiggle away from the injection.

well then that makes me think...how do they even know if the baby is suffering. idk... People thought I should get an abortion...and all because of what they might go through after birth...it's dumb....idk the answer to your question..I am against it no matter what...like you really got to have a good case for me to feel like a person did the right thing b aborting

Yes they can = their nerve cells develop early on!! I know what you are saying - I was 15 yo and had an abortion, I was young and stupid and allowed people to talk me into it. They said that the baby wasnt a baby and it was just a mass of cells etc. I was around 11-12 weeks. Yeah... it is a fully formed baby in there an does have feelings and can sucks its thumb... etc. I am not agaisnt abotion and I am not for it.. kind of in the middle. But people say things that arent true!! I know first hand!

I saw that in an email and it almost made me cry it was crazy!!! (The video of the baby crying) You would have to imagine that if babies can hear, and react to light in the womband are born able to feel pain, then, they must develop that ability in the womb at SOME point. I am not sure scientifically when or anything tho... And I suck at internet research...

If they weren't able to feel pain in the womb, then how would they be able to feel it as soon as they came out? Just wondering. It doesn't make sense to me.
I think people just say this to make themselves feel better about what they're doing or having someone else do.

Definitely agreed. I was thinking that myself and was about to reply when I read your post.

the brain and pain receptors are not fully developed until the end of pregnancy (around 35 weeks) so no.. they can not feel pain during the time abortion is legal.

They may move due to reflexes.. that is completly different then pain..IE tap your knee to check your reflex..
