I posted when my water broke on Friday, June 27th at 7am. I had gone into L&D the night before with bleeding, which they said was just due to dilating. I got home around 4am, went to bed at 6am, was woken up at 7 by the phone, it was my Mom asking how things went. I wanted to sleep for another 30 mins before getting ready for work (my last day). I clicked off the phone and just as I did, woosh, my water broke, I jumped out of bed. I called L&D and they said to come in, so I got there around 8:30am. I was admitted right away, even with no contractions because I was 36weeks, 3days. 37 weeks they could possibly send you home for 24 hours to see if contractions would start naturally. So I laboured for 43 hours, yep FOURTY-THREE! They did 2 rounds of cervadil, pitocin, etc. I was getting very strong contractions, and couple contractions which by the way arn't fun. About 5 seconds in between contractions. I got an epidural about 38 hours in because I was getting hysterical crying, I was so tired. So I slept after I got it. I ended up only dilating to 5 after 43 hours, and the baby's head was swollen because she was stuck in my pelvis. Even the little baby that she is got stuck, so I ended up having a c section. I wasn't too happywith havingit, but was happy she was going to come out safely.
Kacey Elisa Lesley Minor was born TWO days later on Sunday, June 29th at 12:59am, weighing in at 6lbs 3ounces, 19 inches long at 36 weeks, 5 days.
My stay in the hospital ended up being more than I bargained for. I just got out today with her, one week later. She had high jaundice levels so she was under the lights sunbathing for 2 days. Just when it looked like we were close to going home I got a bad infection from the c section. I was feeling cramps that elevated to me being on the floor almost screaming and crying. I had sent my husband home for the evening to sleep, but I needed someone to take care of Kacey. I called my Mom in tears telling her she had to come. She stayed for the next 2 days. My stomach was bright red and hot. Turned into a circus, 3 doctors, tons of nurses in the room. Was on tons of pain meds and antibiotics for 2 days, and still have to take antibioics for another 7 days. I'm so happy to be home though. Taking advantage of her sleeping aleady today.
Here are a few pictures
