it would be drawn once unless you failed the first test, then they do a 3 hour test.

I think it depends on your insurance. Mine only covers one pap every 12 months. I remember my OB checking on that before he did mine which was at my first appt. and unless it comes back abnormal there is no need to do anymore until your regular yearly exam. As far as the appt. that's all my doc did except at my 28 week I had a glucose test. I don't remember when I went to every two weeks but it was recently and then starting at my last appt (35 weeks) he is having me com ein once a week. Just ask your doc. Mine explained when and what would happen every appt. from the beginning.

the only complications that have come up is from my last appointment she noticed my iron was low she told me to take 3 iron pills a day including my prenatal, now she said all that would happen is i would get constipated, but i got the opposite of that i have been having more movements and they are not stopped up, i get nausiated when i take the second pill and i have been getting these little pains in my uterus for the last three days now i dont know what to do about that i called the oncall nurse and she said to probably try two then go on to three

You don't really need another pap unless a problem pops up. But I would think she would be seeing you in office more. Huh.

I had a pap my first OB visit...then they just checked my belly and weight and stuff. I just did a glucose test...and they see you every week for the last month and like every 2 weeks the month before that ( I currently get seen every 2 weeks by 2 different doctors) Just ask the doc next time.......and they may or may not do another pap right before you are due..

Quoting kersti:“ ok so i am 7 months pregnant almost eight and my doc has only done one pap, i am just wondering do you ... [snip!] ... more, i am only seing her once in july an then 1 in august and my son is due in september, am i paranoid or what do you think?”

I have a book from my doctor on when each appt will be and what happens, you only get "1" pap smear per year period, and if u had one say 1 or 2 months before u got pregnant then you wont have another for another year. You will have a total of 11 visits.
1. 6- 8 weeks
2. 10-12 weeks
3. 16-20 weeks
4.24 weeks
5. 28 weeks
6. 32 weeks
7. 36 weeks
8. 38 weeks
9. 39 weeks
10. 40 weeks
11. 41 weeks
with 2 labs in between and cystic fibrosis tests.
Hope this helps!!!!!

and u only get 1 ultrasound your 20 week one, unless u beg and cry u think ur baby is not ok then u may get another one. I feel just like u, but Im told that ur body is making the baby and ideally theres no way the doctors can stop or prevent from anything from happening so theres no point for more ultrasounds and what not? I hate it too.... oh and im told doc appts are only 15 minutes and all they do is measure the belly, hear the heart with a doppler and ask u how u are thats it. Ive done a lot of homework on the subject cuz I felt so alone and so clueless thinking they were just ignoring me or something but I guess thats how it is

Good Luck let m eknow if u need and help

I only got a pap at my first appt. And it may depend on who your seeing ie doc or midwife as to how many appointments you have. Through my midwife I saw her at 10 weeks then every four weeks til 36 weeks. Then every week until I deliver.
