Quoting MindyW:“ You know, I have hpv and herpes and my doc didn't seem concerned at all about the hpv. he said if I was having a herpes outbreak that I would need a c-section but not if I had an hpv outbreak.”really? im concerned that my baby might get it if i have it vaginally? isnt it obvious that he would get it with contact or how is he NOT affected?
Quoting ChelseyD:“ You will probably have a c-section to prevent HPV from infecting your baby”
Quoting ChelseyD:“ You will probably have a c-section to prevent HPV from infecting your baby”I would just ask your OB. I honestly don't think it's an issue. I'm going to google it. The reality is is that so many women have HPV and don't even know it and have babies. I don't think it's dangerous liek herpes is.
Quoting ChelseyD:“ See if you can have it in the states or Canada whichever is closer to you at the moment right now”everyone tells me that but i cant i dont have insurance and my parents who live in the states wont help my unless i move in with them, and i think certain insurances (like the one we have) dont take you after 6 months and im almost 7
Quoting Collegefresh08:“ I have it too, and recently I had posted a post wondering if I would have to have a c-section. The only ... [snip!] ... had an outbreak...well, never noticed one, I wouldnt know what to look for. But I havent noticed anything out of the norm.”what has your doctor told you?

Quoting Sarai G:“ what has your doctor told you?”
Quoting MindyW:“ I'm not completely done readiing stuff yet, but so far everythign says it's rare to pass teh infection ... [snip!] ... delivery then during pregnancy, meaning, if you have a breakout during pregnancy, it may have already infected the infant.so that means that my baby is infected already?!
Quoting AUGU$T 21, 08 ♥:“ If you don't mind me asking.. what are the side affects your baby can have if u have GH?”It can cause all sorts of problems. The number one issue being brain damage. Thats what my doc said anyway. i think it can potentially kill your infant as well. My doc said if it was not a FIRST outbreak then it's not as dangerous because your baby should already have anti-bodies, but that they would do a c-section regardless. If you are not having an outbreak or signs of one then you shoudl be fine. I'm planning a vaginal but my doc also suggested taking valtrex for the last 4 weeks just in case. I haven't gotten them yet. GH is very dangerous to a baby if you are having an outbreak, otherwise they don't consider it an issue, more of a personal choice.
