I WAS in pre term labor!!!

So Wednesday I posted about how I had ben cramping ALL day long. They just felt like menrtal cramps that lasted and never went away. I thought they were BH so I asked everyone here cause I wasnt sure and everyone here thought they were too. Well I called the Hospital on the way home from wotk and they told me to come in just to get checked.

Turns out I had been in labor all day and didnt know it. When they hooked me up to the monitors It picked up 6 contractions in 10 minutes and I was dialated to a 2. So I got hooked up to ivs and got a shot to stop the labor. The shot gave me jitters and it didnt even stop thecontractions. They got stronger and moved to my back. So they gave me meds through my IV and after 4 hours my labor finally stopped.

So ladies if your ever unsure please call your doctor. I just assumed they were BH and they werent, they were real contractions. I had been in labor all day and didnt even know it. They didnt come and go like we all thought contractions were supposed to, they were just a constant steady pain. I dont know if they were so close together that they felt like one constant cramp or what but I WAS in labor.

So call your doctor if you have ANY doubt.

P.S. ive been put on bed rest and it sucks!!! They want her to wait 2 more weeks before she comes.

*by the way when you check you see if your dialted it hurts like s son of a bitch!! And I realized real fast there is NO personal privacy whne it comes to labor, lol.*

I'm glad they stopped the labor! I'm 2 days behind you and I've heard that some doctor's won't stop you at 34 weeks. That little turkey needs to bake some more! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

Its my hospitals policy to stop any labor before 36 weeks unless the baby is in trouble.

I know what that's like.. It's the scariest feeling in the world when they tell you that you're in labor and they're going to try to stop it. I went into pre-term labor at 24 weeks, but I wasn't as lucky as you were. Take care of yourself hun, and try not to stress about anything. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

so was it just a strong pain in your lower stomach? because i have that every so often, but it's constant so i know it isn't contractions. i told the nurse about it and she didn't even say anything. i've been having that pain just about all day today though...

It wasnt even a strong pain, they just felt like normal menstral cramps. Some of them were kinda sharp but for the most part it was just a constant cramping. They werent even that painful, dont get me wrong I could feel them but I wasnt crippled over in pain.

And they were a constant, they didnt come and go in waves. I tried to time them but I couldnt cause it seemed like they never stopped. It was like one long constant cramp. The only reason I called the hospital is cause my doctor never called me back and I was still cramping. I just wanted to know what they were. They said that it was unusuall for them to last all day and not stop at all so they wanted me to come in and once they hooked me up to the momitors it was very obvious that I was in labor.

But let me tell you for some reason once they gave me the meds to stop them they got worse and they spread to my back and they hurt like hell!!

Sorry you're now on bedrest, but at least no more stress from your nasty job!

The same thing is happening to me-last nite i lost a little of my mucous plug-I thought for sure i would have to go to the hospital last nite but the contractions didn't get that bad-my back is just killing me and i'm so miserable-i really don'think it's gonna be that long-but i do have contractions all the time!!!!
