Carpal Tunnel anyone?

Does anyone else wish to cut their hands off because they hurt so fricking bad? I wake this morning about 4am to a hand that just feels like it is being crushed by an anvil. Self-diagnosed carpal tunnel. Looked it up on web md and it's the only answer i can find.

Ahhhhh....the things about pregnancy they didn't tell u in sex ed....had they told me about RLS, carpal tunnel, lower backpain, stretch marks on my sides, swollen EVERYTHING, and an incrediblyhigh sex drive with no ability to reach orgasmi'd probably never had had sex in my life. lol.

really, I think "What to expect" should be required reading... I read that at two months pregnant...

That scared the shit outta me, no joke...

I swear girls would keep their legs closed if they had to read it.

Carpal Tunnel was the worst during pregnancy. The good thing - it does go away after you have the baby. It takes a few weeks but every day it gets better b/c your swelling is going down.

I had to wear hand braces to bed for most of my pregnancy. They have some really good ones at Walmart. But honestly at the end they didn't work - the only thing that did was giving birth.

I had RLS too - fun, fun. My husband freaked out and wanted to take me to the ER one night b/c the Carpal Tunnel was so bad I was just sobbing.

Try the braces and keep them up on a pillow. Good Luck!

I had horrific Carpal Tunnel after I had Alina  

About 6 months after I had her, I had to break down and have the surgery. I also got the lovely "Trigger Finger" where my fingers would lock up. Actually, the recovery wasn't too horrible, and it didn't interfere with taking care of the baby too badly. It's made a huge difference in the level of pain.

I had that with my first pregnancy. It sucked.

My hands and wrists hurt soooo bad i wake up crying. I cant pull my shorts off to pee, cant put my hair up, nothing. its horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And im swollen everyday!

Have you tried the braces? Try the ones with the gel in them. Also ThermaCare heat packs make a wrist wrap that is amazing.

They really helped me. That pain is brutal   After I had the baby, I tried cortisone shots, they work temporarily, but not great. Maybe your insurance will cover physical therapy? If you can spring for a home paraffin bath (they're for your feet for pedicures) that helps with the pain as well.

Another great idea. Yeah, I really cant believe how painful it is, it just started for me the last week or two. When I complain to hubby or my family I feel like they think im exaggerating. Its hurts sooooo bad. Im just grateful thats my only complaint right now

After you put the paraffin on, wrap it in a plastic bag, then a warm towel for 15 minutes. Really helps!
