Contractions??!

So, I know that every woman is different and that makes every pregnancy different...I just want to know what YOUR contractions felt like. My mom says that her contractions felt like veryintense menstralcramps..my mother in-law says that your uterus gets real hard. The "pain" I guess you could say that I have been feeling is almost a mix of both...my stomach is really hard but I am having like this "pulsating" sensation of some sort. Its hard to explain. But it literally feels like the inside of my vagina is LITERALLY contracting ((like menstral cramps)) I am SOOO CONFUSED!!!
So..my question is..
What did your contractions feel like!?!?

I never really felt my uterus get hard. For me it was just felt like the super bad cramps in my lower uterus. Chances are if your utreus is getting hard though, it's a contraction. Try timing them. If you have more than 5 in an hour you need to call your doctor.

it wasn't the pain but discomfort that was the most bothersome .
My best explanation is ... this (first go get 2 ice cubes ... I'll wait while you go get them ...........)

When it starts to burn and become uncomfortable count to 30 slowly and release. ... now do it again within 30 seconds .

THat to me is what contractions feel like.

For me the braxton hicks contractions made my stomach get really hard, but when the real contractions set in it felt like really intense menstrual cramps...tolerable until the back labor set in...UGH!!

I went into labour three times with my first
1st time: no pain from contraction my uterus go hard on top but I just thought he was fliping. my pelvic bone however felt like someone had taken my legs and wishboned me.
2nd time: felt like painful menstrual cramps
3rd time: This one was allowed to progress. regular intervals and it felt like my body was doing a sit up without me moving, it kinda burned like cramps but all over. after my water broke the all over pain got so intense I couldn't walk within the the hour (I was dialating 3 cm every 1/2hour) it went so fast that the pain eventually got to the point that I literally don't think I could describe it - but then again that's labour for ya.

My contractions felt likewhen you havediarrhea, but they never got regular and they never got more and more intense like the books say... luckily I had a drs appt that day cuz I was dilated to 8!!!
