Boyfriend trying to support me and baby but can't

posted 4th Jul
Why can't my boyfriend find a job....
he's been trying really hard for so long and nothing is working..
his CV is good and hes had experience in things like being a waiter and working in a shop but still nothing has come up for him no matter hw many restaurants or shops he contacts!!
i feel so bad that i know hes trying so hard and wanting to be able to support me and the baby
what can i do to help though?
what can he do more to get a job?
anybody else struggling with this sort of thing right now?

Putting it bluntly, in the UK it is damn hard to get a job, mainly because of all the immigrants coming over, and all the 'equality' stuff, employers have to give priority to immigrants, disabled people, older people, women, and then lastly men. Plus immigrants will work for less. All I can suggest if your bf keeps trying. Whereabouts in UK do you live?

i live in the north east of england....
i understand what your saying but where i live my town is mostly white people and my boyfriend is filipino so surely employers would rather employ a filipino man rather than an english man to keep there 'equality numbers' right?

Maybe you could hold off on maternity leave until he gets a job?

Maybe you should try to stick it out a little longer (just for the sake of your family)
I really believe that you should try to work until you phyisically can't for some reason.
