my husband is deploying next week. he has yet to get me insurance. my family is freaking out and sooo pissed at him and are not allowing him to step foot in my house since they think he doesnt care about me or the baby. he said he will do it tuesday when the office is open. but somehow he always comes up with a thousand excuses of why he couldnt do it. sooo i dont know what im going to do if he comes up with some more excuses and he never gets me insurance. and i have power of attorney but it doesnt help me because no one will take me to the base thats three hours away. so i dont know what im going to do. just never go to the doctor again an read up on home births......

apply for medicaid if you must. you need to have prenatal care!

call his commander. find a way to get on post. the commander should help you find a way. He will get his ass reamed for not putting you on it, but this should solve the problem. you can probably find a phone number on his unit's website.

I just want to tell you from personal experience, they "ARE" given all the time needed to get there spouses insurance, your husband is just being lazy and not doing it, Im pretty sure if you go yourself to Tricare they can help you with or without him. This is very important and he needs to get his head out of his ass. Its such a fast and easy process too, maybe 1 hour tops! Good Luck!!!

Well if your family is so upset with him, why don't THEY take you to the nearest instillation to get your insurance set up? You know what you need to do, why don't you find a way to make it happen? Take a bus, a taxi, something. You always blame your husband, but what are YOU doing to get things taken care of?

Yes, your husband should be taking care of business. But the bottom line is that ONE of you needs to, so just do it yourself.

and by the way. i have tried to do it at the places near me. they do not do it. so its not like im sittin at home everyday not trying to do anything. i mean its kinda hard when you dont have a car and when your mom is deathly afraid of driving on highways. bottom line is my lazy husband should be doing it not me. if i wanted to do everything on my own. i would have married myself.

ohhh and i definitly think if my husband was to open his mouth and say he needed to do it they would let him. but hes to scared to open his mouth.
