Question for military wives

posted 4th Jul
If your husband is deployed, and you guys live on base, and you go home, do you have to give them your address back home as well? Just wondering about what I posted earlier about Mike and possibly his little bro. His wife is here @ her parents while he's deployed, but they still have a place in Cali. I'm getting more and more paranoid now. Mike's been gone since 11: 30, it's now 2. I'm thinking it can't be good news.

Sorry, not very explanitory. My boyfriend's little brother is in the Navy. He's deployed right now in the Middle East somewhere on an aircraft carrier. I'm worried something may have happened to him, because his dad had Mike, and his other brother Jeremy go over there saying he needed to talk to them, it was important. The Navy brother's wife is back here, not at their home in Cali. So I was wondering if she had to the the Navy where she would be in case of an emergency. Would they contact his dad if they didn't know where she was?

if your his wife and NOT military- then YOU dont.

if he was to go on leave, then he would need to putthe address of his destination (parents house, etc)on his leave request but since you're not military, you do nothing. you're free to travel or whatever you want, whenever you want, wherever you want.

its just that his command needs to know where he is in case of emergency.

they will contact next of kin if something happened to him. if they cant reach his wife, they will contact his parents.

Quoting AlyssaGullion:“ they will contact next of kin if something happened to him. if they cant reach his wife, they will contact his parents.”

That's what I was thinking but I wasn't sure. I hope everything is OK. Has there been any news about the Abraham Lincoln today?

If she isn't at her normal address and the address they have for her then YES she needs to tell the ombudsman how long she will be gone for and give her the address. I had to do this because I am not staying where we are stationed while my husband is gone.

If she really thinks something is wrong she should have the ombudsmans phone number and she can call her. That is who you go to for information. If she doesn't have the ombudsmans number I believe their is a way to get if if she calls the base they are out of.

Last if something were to happen on the ship today then it more than likely will not be on the news yet.

Just wanted to add that the only reason why she should give the ombudsman the address and phone number of whereshe will be at is so they know where she is if something were to happen to her husband or the ship. She doesn't have to, but it is smart to so they can contact her and find her in case of an emergency. All she needs to do is send a quick email with the dates she is going to be gone, address and phone number to the ombudsman. If she doesn't have the ombudsman email then she needs to get her info to them so she can get info about the FSG/FRG.
