okay, uncalled for tbh.
I'm a teenager, pregnant with my first child, I don't consider myself an expert, but I've read a hell of a lot of books, internet articles, I always ask my midwife questions, so I do know a lot. And if I can answer someone's question, then I will.
And I'm not just some stereotypical pregnant teenager who's gonna let everything go to crap. So don't patronise. Yes there are some rude people on here, but not just teenagers. I found your post incredibly offensive to the teenagers that are perfectly capable and considerate on the forum.
The majority of people, teenagers and 'adults' alike, just want to meet people and find an answer to their query. I believe your post belongs in the Drama Corner.

Go You!!

I'm 15, will be 16 next month, and give birth in December, and I'm actually a member of babycentre, babyzone, all of those :L I just want to be the best mother I can, and I believe I'm perfectly capable of understanding all information offered to me, whether on babygaga or in a science book :L

Trust me, your step-daughter and son-to-be will really appreciate your open mindedness, and I can tell that you're gonna be the type of mother that I hope to be - not just a mother but a friend   they will really appreciate being able to talk to you about anything without you just putting them in the dumb teenager category

Good luck with your son   xx

i think it is really sad how the women in this thread are going at each others throat...really sad. i dont think all teenagers are bad parents because my mother had me @ 20 and my brother @ 17 but she finished high school and went to college and became a nurse however, let's face it most teenagers are not capable mentally and financially to support a baby. Let's not try to glamorize kids having kids here ok? I also think it's very sad to see so many 14, 15, and 16 y/o's on here with babies...i loved my teenage years i couldnt imagine wanting to be saddled down with a baby at that age...seriously wait until you're out of your parents home and have a decent job and some stability before you bring an innocent baby in this world.

Dear stupid Lady I don't know,
Why don't you smurf off! You don't know any of these teens life storys! You will never know what it is like too walk in our shoes! You wouldnt be able to handle it! 50% of the teen moms that actually suport their child/children are a more stronger woman than you! Just because you traveled a little & you planned your pregnancy, that makes you better? what the smurf type of drugs are you on? My daughter saved my life, you crazy person you! Im a 8th grade drop out who was a druggie at the age of 14... If it wasnt for me getting pregnant I would have never gone back to school or get a job, or even have my own house, or car!! I would be doing the same dumb smurf I was doin befor her!!!!! I will keep you in my prayers tonight god bless! & go kill yourself! thanks.

That is so we can learn from our elders who have been through it. Honestly, I rather talk to a mature adult, or mature young adult/teen. Also, I dont think its age that matters, it is mentality, for age is just a number, you will always be the same person. A person should not be judged for the age they have their children, it is their choice, if they have their own things straight and know what theyre doing with their life it should be seen just as a 30 year old having a kid. I suppose everyone has oppinions, because I have also heard people 30 and over are too 'old' to have children.
Remember, you were all young once too, you were just as curious as we are, and most likely even more argumentive. I have a young mom, she had me at 18, I am now 19 years old, and she is 37, I couldnt imagine having a 50 year old mother, that also gives her more time to enjoy with her grandchildren. I never went without anything I needed, and got most of what I wanted. My mother has a good job, and got her life together, a child doesnt put your life on hold, it goes on. Finacial issues are not only a teenagers worrys, it is also many adults. Everyone lives differently, some teenagers have had a job since they were 13 paying their parents rent, or putting their money in a savings, you dont know there finacial status, nor if they stayed in school, nor their capability to care for a child.
Basically, money cant buy happiness, or love.
Age doesnt make you wiser, nor an excellent parent, everyone makes mistakes.
As long as you do all you can for your child, give them all the care and love you can, show them guidence, be there for them when they need you. A baby does not care about money, or age, as long as they have diapers, food, and love they are happy.
A mothers love is unconditional.

Okay, so I'm sitting here reading all of this bickering over the dumbest things! Age doesn't make you a better or worse parent no more or less than your race, religion or creed. I don't know why everyone is fighting over the dumbest things. Maybe it's all the hormones. I have friends that are 17 & pregnant & I have friends and family that are 35 & pregnant. I've seen 17 year olds be better moms than 35 year olds & vice versa. Age is just a number. Nothing more & nothing less. I hate it when people say that you have to be a certain age & "lived your life" in order to be a good parent. I enlisted in the military when I was 17 years old. I had no intentions of having kids or getting married for a very long time; but when I was stationed overseas, I met the man I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, and yes I was only 18. But you know what? We got married, we're celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary in April and we're expecting our first baby. I didn't need to go out to a university & waste thousands of dollars getting drunk and joining a sorority and being a slut. It took a lot for my husband & I to conceive and when we finally did I was ecstatic! I didn't go out & party a lot and I didn't go to a big fancy college and oh yeah, I was 19 when I got pregnant. I'm 20 now and I'm out of the military & going to nursing school. If anything I think these "teen moms" who have the guts & the respect for themselves to still work & go to school should be praised. Maybe teen pregnancy is at its highest..maybe it's not...but there are also more "teen moms" getting an education & finishing school WHILE being a parent & sometimes a single mom. So, what does age matter? It doesn't. Saying a teenager can't be a good mom is like saying african americans can't be good mothers, or atheists can't be good mothers. It's irrelevant. It's in your heart. So, why don't yall fighting stop ACTING like a bunch of 12 year olds, and just learn from each other. I thought these forums were for guidance and to embrace others differences & opinions & learn from it? So, why don't we take a hormone pill & calm down & enjoy the fact that we live in a day & age where we have the ability to communicate like this & learn from other women of different ages, races, religions & creeds. That's all I have to say about this. Thanks =]
