circumcision...

That was one of the first questions they asked me when I went in for my pregnancy consultation the very first appointment. I said yes. I have several reasons, and I won't go into all of them now but I just think it's whats best for my own son. In the end it won't matter what anyone else tells you, it's going to be what you feel is best for your son. Have you spoken to your doctor about getting it done vs. not?

I chose to get my son done and will for any other sons I may have in the future. There's benefits and risks just like with everything else (even with leaving the foreskin on) but I believe it's a personal decision that should be left up to the parents, not whether a doctor will do it or not.

No, I haven't. It seems as if every time I have an appt, my doctor isn't there and I end up seeing some med student or something...I am leaning more towards doing it though...

you know, I really don't know lol. I thought it was slighty strange myself...they asked me if I wanted an epi and all too. Idk I guess just seeing where I stood on things and seeing if I would need any like readin materials on the subjects or not. I really don't know...

i didnt think about all that stuff until i got over my morning sickness! lol
I remember my dr asking something about an epidural early on but i was like "i'll have to get back to you on that"

I never had morning sickness I got lucky lol. But they asked me all that...do you want an epi or natural if you have a boy will he be circumcisedthey asked something else about a baby girl but idr. I thought it was interesting lol. Way to make a first impression!

I had my son circumcised. I didn't decide till after I had him. My mom actually made the decision for him to get circumcised (sp) She felt it would be cleaner that way.

Daddy says I'm the boss. He hasn't given me much feedback on the subject so IDK.

I'm getting my son circumsized. Not right away, I think I'll wait a year or so when he's old enough to have something to take for the pain. My husband was 4 and he's not traumatized or anything. I also know someone who was 10 when they had it done, he only remembers the healing process. Actually it's quite common to wait here in Germany.....

That's such a cop out lol. My hubs tried that crap with me. I waited till we were on our way out somewhere one nite and cornered him up in the truck and asked him. I told him I honestly wanted his opinion and what hethought. It's his boy too! That's when we decided to just have it done. He really didn't have any opinions on it but by the time I was done explaining everything he was like I want it to be done lol. Me personally, yes I want it done. I do feel like it is cleaner...and there are arguments for both sides but I feel it's more sanitary and quite honestly, I also do feel like it is a cosmetic issue as well. I want him to look like his daddy and most other boys around here (we live in teh deep south) so when he gets older and get through that whole fitting in stage it will be one less thing for him to stress over.There is a bunch morethings too lool but we'd be here all nite...

I feel the same way...I guess I just wanted to hear from other Mommies and Mommies-to-be what their opinions were. Thanks so much to all of you for responding.
